Doesn't help that the stock header design piles heat near the number six and blows the HG. Plus the thing has extremely inefficient head design and EFI. You can just put aftermarket long tube headers on the 3VZ-E and it won't blow HG anymore though. The MLS gaskets require super tight tolerance on milling, so just slapping them on an old block doesn't always work.

Nice, I almost went with a portaband setup with something like the Swag Offroad table. But I decided I needed a horizontal bandsaw.

My first bandsaw that I got on CL for $100. I loved that thing!

    Sold the 4x6 for $230 & got me a 7x12.

of course it needs precise milling. id never do head gaskets on an engine that old without it.

But as for the headers i was under that impression before too. but even with headers ive seen them fail way to early in the same exact spot by cyl 6

So the head design has poor coolant circulation too then, it really is a complete abortion of an engine by toyota standards then

it is litterally the worst (other than the oil burners. but those wil run on no oil at all and not blow headgaskets.)

I rebuilt my friends 3.0 with cams (i forget where he got em). milled everything, used MLS headgaskets. things still rockin 140k miles later. the MLS can just handle the heat much better i believe
