They musta had a hell of a time untangling that curvy phone cord before they could request a Compact Disc be returned from the future

Best manual transmission I’ve ever owned. Just feels right. Although I do miss my 78 International Scout, that shifter arm was almost two feet long.

    all tore up already
Even being able to still buy a manual is dope. We all need to praise toyota for offering a 3 pedal truck in a trim other than sr or even at all

Everyone is probabaly use to there clutch pedal but isnt the pedal the cheapest thing ever created? My 13 reg cab 4x4 felt the same and I was surprised they didnt fix it on the 3rd gen.

My buddy had a Super Bee with a pistol grip 4 speed, the shifter arm seemed like it was about 3 feet long, lol.

I loved it, other then its under powered horrible gas mileage, bench seat was uncomfortable, no power windows or locks.

It was clean too, special order black with a leer top, I bought it used with 18k on it. Sold it for about the same. It was too small, I was excepting a 4 door civic being given to me so I bought the small 4x4. But niece car blocked and the late gen reg cab had to go.

I almost forgot how good the Toyota transmissions are.
I’ve been driving a MT Wrangler JK the past 5 yrs. That 6MT is garbage.

You got the Wrangler JK right! Jeep Wrangler 6 Speed is crude and rough. I drove my ‘10 Wrangler for 50K and traded it in ‘17 on my 6 speed TRD Sport. The JK handled terrible at 65 mph.

Man...all the complaining about the Tacoma 6 speed is crazy? First 8k of driving the trannies are tight. Between 8k and 10k they are broke in. Theses Tacoma’s are built for 150 to 200K miles. Go drive them....

I'd venture to say they're built for far more than a mere 150-200k.

If you're not happy with your 6MT now, this will make you happy. I had to replace my throwout bearing at 48k because it decided to no longer do what bearings do and become a melted pile of squealing crap over a span of 3 weeks and 250 miles from the first indication that it was failing.

After 7 hours of cussing, busted knuckles, and lots of beer and nicotine, the transmission was removed, URD Stage 2 clutch and TORQUE-U HD flywheel installed, throwout bearing replaced, and everything put back together, the results are in after 100 miles of test driving.

The stock clutch and flywheel setup is garbage and is a huge problem. The new clutch and heavy flywheel paired with OVTUNE 1.05 gave me a raging hard-on. The shifting is so smooth, idle is smooth, the truck doesn't shake at all, RPM's are steady, and there is no bucking in 1st gear when leaving from a stop. I am a happy happy man.

    Trashed stock throwout bearing:

Nice! Bummer that TOB went so early. Do you still have the accumulator in there?

Yeah. I may do the accumulator mod after the clutch is broken in. Right now, I'm pretty happy with the feel of everything.

48k huh.... Seems a little early for "bulletproof" Toyota trucks.

I've only got 2k on my clutch, so here's hoping :fingerscrossed:
