After nearly two decades of riding upright position bikes, I feel like I'm riding a Big Wheel when I hop on the Harley. I know it's not the reality of the situation, as the '48 isn't nearly as stretched out as other cruisers, but it feels like I'm in a recliner in my mind. It's the whole forward-controls position and the lowww seat. Being 6', It's nice to finally stretch out. Now I know why short guys usually ride cruisers. I feel 12" from the ground. I think it's more like 29", though.

That happened time my husky at about the same mileage. Thankfully it fully went out while I was still in my neighborhood. Navigating traffic with no clutch would have sucked.

I replaced mine with a fancy billet one. Didn’t bother with warranty.

Just took a 35 degree ride around the neighborhood to check out quiet baffles. It was a major pain to get the exhaust shields back on. Ended up just yanking the back clamp off so I could get everything else aligned and clamped down. Baffles didn't do too much. It's more tolerable at idle, but any acceleration is about the same, save for less popping. I would return these baffles and go with Super Quiets if it wasn't for the pain of removing and reattaching the exhaust shields.

I need to silence mine a bit more. The spark arrester doesn’t really do a whole lot. It’s too loud for any tracks around here.

On these bikes it’s just a poor design. Not sure if it’s true or not but I read the o ring they used isn’t compatible with brake fluid so they fail. Otherwise nothing wrong with a hydraulic clutch.

do the tracks actually test for decibels out there? they dont here that im aware of.

hmm i wasnt aware of that. ive seen it fail also on a 500exc. sucks that it drops the brake fluid into the engine oil when it happens too.

Does your bike have a tuner? I added the V&H Fuelpak to mine after the exhaust and it greatly reduced the popping (running rich).

I started with just exhaust but two weeks later added the air cleaner and Fuelpak and it rides so much better now. Much more “controlled” if that makes sense. (Duh, it’s a tuner).

Yeah each track has a dB limit (even the off road parks) and I’ve read that people get kicked out because of it.

The test is something like x dB from 20 feet at 3000 or so rpm. I can’t even pass at idle. That’s with my yoshi slip on with the spark arrester in it (granted its also cut down 4-5” from stock).

racing would be fun. although having done sm/trackdays with the sport bikes i think the SM is more entertaining personally. get to jump stuff and cheaper in general for bike issues/maintenance.

just ordered MXGP Pro for the ps4. went to my buddies last night and played MX vs ATV which was ok. really just made me want a game since its not riding time right now

I love speed and the greater chance of death and dismemberment. Racing superbikes, anything can happen at any moment. you can't tell but the bike is damn near outta control everywhere on track lol
