Something is Wrong With My Toytec Coilovers...Please Help

A week ago I put the Toytec Ultimate kit on my taco. You may remember this thread...

Somehow I got like 5 inches of lift from the front coilovers. I decided to give it a week to settle then adjust per Chris4x4's instruction. So today I retorqued everything and adjusted the coilovers. I adjusted them down about 1/2 an inch which should have resulted in a 1" lowering of the front of my taco. It didn't make any difference so I adjusted another 1/2" on each side but believe it or not it still made no difference.

Is something wrong with my coilovers? I'm kinda worried now that I have adjusted them down over 1" which should have resulted in at least 2" height reduction but it did nothing. I'm adjusting them clockwise...is that right? I only have about 1.5" of thread below the adjuster ring left and I still have a 4" lift in the front.

Counter clockwise would move the adjuster ring up on the threads....you sure that's right? Seems like i would turn the adjuster clockwise thus moving the adjuster down on the threads and lowering it. The directions say to turn clockwise....what am I missing...I feel like a dumb ass!

So the thread adjusters may be on the wrong setting? That doesn't sound good. Should I return the coilovers for new ones? Just seems like something has been wrong from the beginning. I mean Toytec says the maximum lift you can get after you adjust them is 3.5 inches and somehow I got 5" with the ability to adjust up from there. When I adjust down nothing happens.

This all seems real weird and possibly dangerous. Thoughts?

 

I would call Toytec and see what they say. For my Icon coilovers, you would have to make 4 turns to get about 1/2" of lift or drop.

 

how did you measure the 5"? did you add on new tires at the same time?

Don't mind me but I gotta ask. Are you driving it around the block after you adjust them? You gotta let the suspension settle. If the tires don't roll after you adjust it, it will stay the same!

 

Otherwise did you get the incorrect springs sent?

 

I drove it around the block and adjusted it a couple more times and got it. One side is now at 39" and the other is at 39-1/4". I'm going to check the tire pressure and make one more adjustment to the drivers side to get the 2 sides to be even and she'll be good to go.
