Has anyone bought a TRD Pro grill for under $100 recently that they can link me to a direct listing?

I'm not dropping OEM price tag money on a piece of plastic but FFS these sellers are absolute sh*t that I've ordered from (2 in the last week, one grill came with no letters and the other listing got removed after I paid).

Help on confirming a reliable listing/seller would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I bought one off of EB about a month and a half ago from this seller https://www.ebay.com/itm/113323346772?ViewItem=&vxp=mtr&item=113323346772 - It's now $3 cheaper than what I paid and I guess there's a 10% off site wide there now. My only comments to add and I knew this going into it. The sensor behind the grill on my '18, occasionally will send out the light/alert that it's not functioning, dry weather it's not a problem, but the few times it's happened, it "self corrected" when it dried out. It was an easy install, except for the wire connectors holding the sensor to the back of the OEM grille. I like the look much better, the grille I received had the "Toyota" letters all connected to a small, separately packaged bracket, that screwed onto the back of the grille, very easily. The grille was well packaged and in perfect condition, no broken parts, tabs, etc. Took about a week from ordering, until it arrived here in MA from CA. I did not look closely at the posting before ordering, but my letters appear to be a direct match for my MGM color. Hope this helps out a bit. Bill in MA

Thanks, @msp2640! Exactly what I was looking for, just confirmed order. It'll be going on a '19 TRDOR so I'm aware of what you mean with the sensor. Appreciate the assist!

I have not purchased one of the eBay grilles, but when I was reading I heard of similar things that are happening to you.

In cases with the letters missing in the package with the grille, they may be delivered separately. Separating the letters helps the sellers get around shipments being stopped for Toyota copyright issues.

In cases where the seller removes the listing after the purchase, people have still received the grilles that were ordered.

I would give it a bit more time and see if the letters and the other grille show up. I’m betting that you end up with two grilles.

I don’t see it. Checked with a straight edge and everything is aligned

Thankfully I got one of the refunds approved (for the poorly packaged/missing letter shipment). The second one is in dispute but I'm certain will eventually get processed as a refund/cancelled order. Just ordered the one MSP2640 ordered so hoping I get this one as smoothly as he did. It's just a pain in the ass then again I know they're all shady reproductions so I should expect a little headache.

Maybe it was a poor picture on their listing. I'm not certain. But the first picture I saw was definitely not right.

I would not have paid full boat from the dealer or even $200 for it, because it's just for looks and no upgrade to the functionality. For me, less than $75 it was worth it. I did use a you tube video to figure out the install, it mentioned the sensor part, but never addressed how to unhook the sensor wire from the OE grille, so it was wire cutters (on the plastic wire retaining holders, not the wires!) and pliers for removal. I recommend a blanket or padding on the dropped tailgate, to use as a work bench to attach the new grille, to the surround, worked out for me. If you scored it today on EB, its a very good deal! - Good luck, Bill

Did you buy the extra garnish piece to cover the sensor? I'm about to get one of these grills and have seen a few people complain about the same problem. Most say no problem if you use the cover garnish piece, and I read one where they added an extra washer to "tilt" the sensor down a little.

Agreed. Just bought it so hopefully this one comes just as you received it. I'll be grabbing the cover piece that @khestee mentioned above. I've read a few posts where that seems to do the trick with the sensor acting properly and not throwing any false error alerts.

Happened with me, I ordered one from eBay and I got the grill and there were no letters. S. I emailed them and they gave me tracking for the other package that arrived 4 days later.

The grille looked OEM to me. The grille is set up so that the letters are perfectly aligned since the letters "Screw" into the pre made holes on the grill.

I did not buy the added garnish, for now I can live with it when its does "alert" - like this morning, we got a dusting of snow, half a mile into my commute, it went off. I took the truck out when I went on lunch break, no more alert. It's just been too cold here to mess with any plastic trim pieces. I'll probably address it when it warms up in the spring and put it on my list of "mods". Bill
