Round here they'd have to pay you double time for the meeting and however long you stayed if there's not at least 8 hours between your shifts.

 

Nice. Getting one picked out, and all our ducks in a row to close has been hectic. Hopefully things have gone much smoother for you.

Everyone's off but me!

I used up my vacation for the year. Just coasting till Christmas week + New years that we get off paid. But I'll probably end up working then too for triple pay. Who needs to rest, right?

I work the rest of this weekend. Calling for 1-6 inches ice/snow so they’ve implemented inclement weather policy.

Our company didn't tell anyone we had an inclement weather day till the day after so that no one would stay home.

 

What's that? Haha. 5 times last year all 3 highways I travel to work on we're shut down . Still had to get there. Haha

 

And they only offered it to 3rd and 1st shift.

We get a yearly letter that allows us to drive during travel bans to get to and from work.
Then the assholes that bang out get a free paid day off if the courts end up closing due to snow. Those of us who make it in get regular pay; sucks.

 

When bad weather is occuring, my company encourages "non-essential employees" to work from home.

I don't know who decides who is "non-essential"?
I know I would not want that lable attached to my job description.

I would think that bunch would be the first to be scrutinized when cut back occur.

Oh, and 'yello, my night shift peeps.
