It does. I've seen it done on cars before, but you have to wire it inside of the body panels.

Took the new quicksand out for its first road trip yesterday. Found a cool road up to a fire look out. Gorgeous weather made for an incredible view.

Took a forest service road back to the highway. Easy trail but allowed me to try all the off-road tech. Everything works as it should so will be ready to go for the harder trails once all my armor shows up and I can mount it.

We got 1-2 inches of snow on Sunday here in eastern NC, but the rain melted it all by the end of the day.

So I’ve never had so many people compliment me on a vehicle I’ve owned more so than my quicksand taco. I’ve got nothing especial done to it just lift and tires but everyone seems to really like it.
The latest compliment I got was on the interstate doing 70mph a blacked out government suburban pulls right up next to me rolls the window down just to give me the thumbs up on my taco!! It’s was great made my day haha!!

Sometimes subtlety is the best IMHO

As much as I like my SR8 wheels, I often contemplate swapping to a set of Pro wheels (both the 4Runner and 3rd Gen Taco). Toyota really nailed it with both those wheels for my tastes.

My Tacoma is stock, unless you count the LED interior/license plate light kit. I’ve gotten a couple compliments from guys during drop-off/pick-up at my son’s school saying, “nice truck.” The strangest compliment I got came from a couple guys working at my dealership’s service department when I visited a few days after purchase. It was the same, “nice truck” compliment. I thought to myself, these guys see Tacomas day in and day out, they must be piling on compliments for the sake of customer service survey results or they really like Quicksand.

I really want the Tacoma Pro ‘16 inch glossy black wheels to replace my Off Road wheels! My other dilemma is whether to ger the black SR grille surround/bezel or go with the Pro gille. I think the black grille/surround is a lot more subtle, but I absolutely love the “TOYOTA” heritage grille layout. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

A salesman did the same thing the other day went I brought it in for the 20k mile service. He owns a 4Runner so we chatted for a bit.

I swapped the TRD OR wheels to Taco Pro wheels with 285’s and it makes a great difference in the way it looks.
I also went back and forth about the SR grill and the Pro grill but ultimately went for the Pro grill bc I got it for $75 shipped so I couldn’t turn it down.

Next I’m tackling BHLM’s and Morimoto amber leds for the fogs, that will get front finished up...at least for now.
