Yea, no welding skills here so I will have to pay to have that part done. There is a metal shop and a weld shop near me though. I will do all the finish work (grinding). Then I will most likely have the whole thing powder coated or paint it myself with that bed liner paint I am buying this weekend for the skids. I saw it on @pdenajim sliders and it looked fantastic. But I am not gonna remove the plastic caps. I am just gonna do a L shaped bed rail cap and the shorter part that wraps the plastic cap will be just more of a lip and I am going to leave the plastic caps on. First I will remove them and silicone the shit out of the bed side tops to help prevent rust then I will just drill and bolt right through them. I will likely use eye bolts too for tie down points. It will be a permanent fixture. And solid AF! I want to be able to mount things to the inside frame, like a chain saw and what not. I'd prefer to not have anything mounted to the outsides and have them like you said and even with the cab and follow the shape as close as possible. I even play on just using a tarp as a sun shade with poles that can all be stored in the bed or affixed to the inside of the rack. I don't want anything on the outside of it. On the sides. Of course I don't want to reinvent the wheel either so I am open to all opinions and suggestions and real world experiences.

When the time comes we'll have to collaborate some more. It sounds like we want/need the same things almost.

Negative. It’s extremely close but the bottom mount is a different width on the 4runner. I can’t remember if it’s too wide or too narrow.

I don't have any welding skills either but I figure by the time I am ready to make one, I will have some welding experience under my belt. worse comes to worse my dads friend is a welder by trade so I will ask him for some help. its probably a good idea to keep the plastic on there, the friction of the rack rubbing on the bed side might be bad news, maybe make some sort of thin rubber sheet to place under plastic instead of silicone? my buddy can powder it for me since his dad owns a powder coating company. not sure how thick the bed sides are, might be worth having some flat stock going the length of the rack inside the bedside under the top part when bolting it down, instead of washers, give it a little more strength? definitely going to be a permanent fixture, for the most part anyways, I do want to be able to take it off in case I have to load a fridge or something, but that will rarely ever happen anyways so even if it is a little difficult to take off, at least it wont have to happen often.

what are the two types of cab mount relocates again? links would be appreciated. since I am going to be replacing my body mount bushings and putting in a 1'' body lift next summer (hopefully) im thinking of just moving the cab mount while I have it all apart and cab lifted up. I mean im going to be chopping it up for bigger tires anyways, why not just move it. plus, who knows, maybe I will put 35's on WAY down the road, why not plan ahead? I don't like having to redo stuff I have already done, I feel like future me would be happy with present me if I did this lol

Still trying to catch up Guys, Sorry. Work is slamming me hard at the moment and in my free time at home, which is the hour after I eat and then pass out, I am trying to study for this HAM radio test on the 15th.
    :angrygirl:

Anyway, enough of the wine and cheese party. So yea, this diverging diamond interchange concept is something we copied from another state. It is the first one in Delaware though. Apparently it is well received and does actually make interchanges safer and less congested. Among other things, a major considerations for highway designers these days, post 911, is evacuation. How quickly can we move the masses should they need to be. In some states, like Maryland, around Washington Dc, the traffic volumes are expected to go up 40% by 2040. 40% more traffic is a freakin lot more cars. So there are definite advantages to making traffic flow better.

The absolute best part is. I get paid to do this shit and that buys me mods!

That's cool! I plan on ultimately putting a set of these under the truck for red puddle lights.

I'm trying to be good and actually do work while I'm here at work instead of TW'ing and I need to study for this freaking test. I got this radio and I don't know how to use it and am afraid if I do I will pollute emergency airwaves.

By the way, have I said how much I hate being a responsible, law abiding adult? o_O
