Yea that's a good point. I am on 31's currently and want to step up to 33's but am fearful of how slow they will me make my already slow truck. I am a 4cyl as well but have 4:30 gears which definitely helps.
Having a large BS on your rims definitely helps clear larger rubber. If I do ever size up to a 33", I think I will grab a set of SCS rims with a between 3.5-4in BS to help with that.

I was on a budget.I went with 33's and the best 16x8 toyota rim I could find used where 4.5 bs... and they rub on the frame :(
So now I am looking at spacers.
I wish i had just pulled the triger on SCS with 3.5 bc to start with.

Anybody have recommendations for spacers that will work with manual hubs 1". Some say hub centric will others say they wont work.
Spidertrax makes one that is 1.5" that will work with manual hubs but that's too far out for me.
Still waiting to hear back from Bora

I researched this a while back. I found that only a lug centric spacer will work with manual hubs unless you either go 1.5” or notch out the back of a 1.25”. I have a set of 1” all pro spacers with extended thread lugs for the front. They worked well with no issues. I’m not using them anymore if you’re interested in buying them.

Much appreciated! I like having those wheels, definitely looks like a Toyota again.

I don’t want to re-gear. Only thing I would touch in trans is getting a locker rear end.

I do like the 33x10.50 though... almost pizza cutter

Sorry for the late reply. No wheel spacers, just 33x10.5 bfg ko2 on 15s Toyota stock.

Any rubbing issues? I want to size up to a 33 for my next tire and wanna stay on 15" rims. Doubt I would be able to run a 12.5 width without adding spacers though.

Welcome, welcome! Nice find. Only 130k, I don’t see how such things exist...

Agreed, its not the best looking. The Anzo aftermarket headlights help along with a bumper. And blacking out any chrome...
Shit you know what, it takes a lot to make the front end look good

Really digging the new front bumper! Looks like it was a pretty simple bolt on since you didn't shorten the frame rails and re-weld the end caps.
Now all you need is a winch and some lighting to throw under the hoop!

Thanks man! Yeah it's a trail-gear, and it just slid over the frame rails. It was bolt on, and the only modification was to chop off the existing skid mount and use theirs that came with the kit, and another member welded the hoop for me. A/C before any of that though hahaha

    Right on!
Did you have that member bend and notch the tubing you used for the hoop as well?
At least you have got your priorities straight ahaha

No it actually just an add on that you can get from trail-gear. It's on their site in the bumper section. But he notched and welded it for me.

Oh sweet. I didn't know they offered that.
I'll keep that in mind for whenever I end up purchasing some TG bumpers.

Man I miss my ‘98. I still think these are the best looking pickups Toyota has made.

    This thread is cool.

New guy to the forums here to share my 1998 Superchrged Tacoma TRD 5 speed with a rear diff e-locker. I have the Toytec/Eibach 3in lift kit going on soon. Does anyone have any advice for doing the pinch weld mod? Thanks

    I have mods
Take the front tires off, use a box knife to cut away the extra wheel well plastic covering the pinch weld, beat the pinch weld over flat with a hammer, reinstall the tires. Pretty easy to do.
