Then why would you buy an automatic? You can NEVER trust an automatic.
    ANY automatic.

If you want a predictable transmission, there is no option: MANUAL.

Easy fix is put in S mode and put in 1st gear. I do it all the time and no problems.

I never had a manual stall. Sureeee.
Manuals have more issues than automatics. Pushing the cluth 100's of times a day is one of them.

That's why manuals account for only 2% of transmissions sold on new vehicles.
    Hardly anyone wants them anymore.
We hear all these great stories about them, but in the long run they are a pita.

Much LESS of a pain than a crappy-o-matic.
And if you think that pushing a clutch a few times is a problem, its nothing compared to all the extra motions you crappy-o-matic drivers have to make to move your foot to the brake (which is used a LOT less on a manual), and even if it were, SMALL PRICE TO PAY FOR PREDICTABILITY / SAFETY.

I don't know about MORE issues than automatics lol. If you think a M/T is a PITA, well that's all I need to hear.

Anyway, trolling aside - While the auto seems to have some "quirks" that some hate, the M/T trucks were not without driveability issues early on. Bogging off the line was one of them. Sometimes ppl assume that it's the auto trans that is the cause of all their woes, but that assumption could be masking the real cause in some cases- - the engine calibration.

Any links on this safety myth thing ?
Talking about predictability, ever see someone go from 2nd back to 1st instead of 3rd at 55 ?
I did, a guy in a sports car racing in front of me once. That ended that predictability.
Oh forgive me, I forgot all here are professional race car drivers and never fry a clutch.

Safety is a CONSEQUENCE of predictability. When you EXPECT it to do something, and it does something DIFFERENT, that is NOT PREDICTABLE, and can be DANGEROUS, if you depend on it doing what you were expecting it to do. OP's entire problem is that autocraptic did NOT do what he EXPECTED it to do.

I have no idea what you're trying to get at here. Predictability is that it does exactly what you tell it to do and nothing else. If you do something fucking retarded like put it into 1st at 55, then its going to do something incredibly PREDICTABLE: effectively locking the wheels.

And as an aside, have you ever TRIED to put a manual into 1st at above, say 10 mph? I dare you to try.

My auto does exactly what is suppose to. Reading this stuff here makes one think the tranny is shifting all over the place and stalling every minute. Total nonsense, ridiculous and a waste of time even reading.

More like a Silverado with a 6 speed auto that shifts correctly and more power /better mpg....

But I’ll be over in the 1st gen and 22re section if you need me. I’ll also be waiting for a 4thgen that’s hopefully designed better.
