Was that original 427 and numbers matching? Be worth a pretty penny today. My first was a 67 Fairlane but with a small block. Would still like to get my hands on a 67 Fairlane 427:D

1968 VW bus in West Germany when I was in the Army. I was 17 yrs old, a colleague sold it to me for $700. Wasn't a poptop but had the folding seat/bed in the back. Laid my first wife on that bed. 1600cc upright, 4spd manual. That thing went to Berlin, Paris, Munich often for Oktoberfest, Monte Carlo one time.

Blew a head gasket, sold it for $150, bought a '65 Mercedes 220S sedan for $1000, that was a sweet vehicle. 2.2l straight six with dual 2-barrel carbs, 4-spd column shifter, factory sunroof, that was a nice Autobahn machine.

Originally a 390FE car but the original owner I bought it from put 428SCJ heads and 406 PI Tri Power on it . I ran it for awhile like this then found a complete 427 side oiler with hi riser intake and heads at a swap meet and installed that

This cyclone also had the factory installed fiberglass hood ,stainless steel trim and acid dipped body panels . It even had 4.30gear with a Detroit locker

I eventually sold it for $4k in 1988 and I know this car is worth alot of money today if it's still around

The original owner of this car I bought it from was and still is a very famous socal custom car painter that also had a 34 willys p/up with a blown 427 Ford engine . Sorry can't think of his name but he was on the TV show Overhaulin with chip foose and painted some of the cars

Just the motor is worth a lot. With 4.30 that thing was quick. Bet you wish you still had it now..

Back in the early 80's at OCIR Drag strip it ran 11.90's easily . Yes I wish I still had this car and frustrates me no end knowing the cars value today !!

Yea they were. Built like Brick Shit Houses. I remember driving it to Comm college checking out this chick that was walking. Doing 55 mph 10 over the limit in to the back of three cars waiting to turn left. Don't remember what cars they were completely obliterated the first car. Was driving on a ticket at the time, Ambulance driver asked if I was hurt, I told him my Chest hurt a little from were it hit the steering wheel. That was it.

Nice, been to OCIR, Pamona and Carlsbad many times but mostly Carlsbad. 11's were not that easy in the 80's so good job.

Never saw that bowtie till now!
My 1st car I bought for $200 from a guy who needed quick cash. I felt bad about his asking price but he wanted to let it go because of the gas mileage anyway.
I got a steal. It was a '65 Chrysler 300. 340hp, 470lb/ft tq 413ci-4 with the 727 torqueflite trans. A true tank. Creme-white with black landau vinyl, more chrome inside than out, black leather, glass plates over the headlights, clear taillights with red bulbs. This car absolutely gave me no troubles-wish I had it now. Chrysler was a total unique style back then. When I had it as a 19-21 year old, I didn't appreciate just what a jewel this car was. I do now that I'm old:)

    79 Ford Mustang..notchback. Bought it early 1991.

Was red with black on the bottom half of the doors, black stripes on the hood. Of course, the plastic double-blade wipers in red that every kid had back then.

All show, no go. 4 cylinder. Got me around for 6 months, sold it after high school.

The blue one in your pics looks to be a '66-the '65s had the glass plates over the headlights. The only year they did that:) I would sweat like hell changing a headlight when I had to remove the bezel to get that glass off-they were heavy! and on mine the vinyl landau sides stopped at the rear side glass.

My first car was 1987 Volvo 240 DL... Bought it from my dad for $1000, had 270,000 miles on it, and I learned how to drive a manual on it.

    Looked just like this:
