Who makes the Auto Transmissions in the 3rd gen Tacoma?

Apparently my general question triggered the guy...whatever. There are a lot of knowledgeable guys/gals here that will go out of their way in answering your question(s). That goes a long way. This thread is a perfect example.

So who makes the MANUAL transmission? I had a 1993 F150, 300, 5 speed. 25 years later I learned that it was made by Mazda.

A tale of three Tacoma 4x4 Access Cabs on the dealer lot- here for 15K maintenance:

1st, SR, 4 cylinder engine and 5 speed MT from Japan


2nd, TRD Sport, 6cyl engine- USA, 6 speed MT- Thailand


3rd, SR5, 4cyl engine Japan, 6 speed AT- USA

 

Looks like probably Aisin as well. Good.
