    I did this mod in my 2008 Tacoma several years ago and used a standard household electrical box with a standard faceplate. I wanted this one to look a little better for my 2016. I used a piece of Lexan to construct a small box to hold the pop-in sockets mentioned at the first of this thread. Thanks for the all the information in this post.

    Okay, let's play, "What did Mtn Mike mess up"!

    I did this mod last week and now my battery wont hold a charge. Have I somehow miss-wired something to create a parasitic draw? The inverter is NOT on with the ignition turned off. The dealer just tested the battery and said it's fine. I'm getting a second opinion on the battery status at a local shop right now.

    The second shop said the battery was bad. Funny how the dealer who would replace a bad battery under warranty claims that battery is good, but the shop selling the battery said my battery was bad. I'll be running my own tests on it today. In the mean time I unplugged the fuse to the inverter to see if that fixes the problem.

    This is what I’m planning to do.

    Did you do the mod on your 3rd Gen MT yet? Or, anyone else do this on a manual trans with success?

    To update my thread...it was just a dead battery. The anytime 400 watt mod worked perfectly with no complication. I also added an outlet in the cabin.

    TRD Exhaust, Mobtown bolt on sliders and aluminum tailgate reinforcement, Reverse lights changed to yellow turn signals, LED pods added for reverse, ADD W1 oil catch can, Total Chaos bed reinforcement, rear diff breather to taillight mod, 12" combo led bars behind lower grill wired to high beams, Toyota led bed light kit, 400 watt anytime mod, SSO slimeline front bumper.
    I did do this on my third gen and was the same procedure. Love the mod makes the inverter much more useful.

    Ok I’m in the middle of this and followed the other thread with the MT write up. Got the 400W anytime done.

    Now trying to figure out the AC outlet in the cab for the manual trans. Already have everything together, just have to wire it. Really just need the one wire figured out, already know the hot and neutral coming out of the converter.

    Anyone do this AC outlet for the MT? The AT version says ground the pink wire, but the MT is different.

    Any info is appreciated.

    Did you do the AC outlet in the cab?

    I’m trying to figure out the one wire to ground on the MT. (It’s the pink wire in the AT)

    Update all good to go, just wired the AC wires hot to white and neutral to blue and grounded the outlet, all works both outlets and both USB ports, phone is charging

    this one on Amazon. It has Quick Charge USB. If you're gonna do this mod, I'd suggest using Quick Charge USB. It never actually says whether it's Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0 but it does say it's Quick Charge.

    It doesn’t open up it’s flush with the console and wired to the inverter underneath.

    What I was really getting at--

    I assume you cut the power cable that comes with the outlet and wire to the factory inverter like OP's post-- and I am wondering how you were able to match hot/neutral/ground. Can you see the connections on the back of the outlet to decipher which is which?
