No you’re incorrect. Local pick ups in Maryland are treated no different than walking into a store in Maryland. You will pay sales tax. Either way doesn’t matter, we moved the shop to Delaware.

Taxes are paid to where final pick up is taken place.

Yes. Typically you are supposed to pay use tax to the state you live in for all purchases. But most people don’t do that which why states require businesses to collect taxes at the time of sale.

Sales tax is not a tax on businesses. It’s a tax on consumers. It sucks. They tax our money when we earn it and they tax it when we spend it.

If you are spending it on product for resale, it should be tax exempt. Just wish tools can fall into that. I need a new toolbox. Talked to the dealer next size up box is 18k. Think i will stay cramped since he will only give me 7500 for trade.

You drove to MD and purchased products. It’s no different if you were to drive to any other store in MD. You’re gonna be charged MD sales tax because we are charged MD sales tax.

That being said, it’s no longer the case. We’ve moved shops to DE in October of this year and moved the LLC to DE so no more sales tax. MD sucks for small business owners.
