I am wondering if anyone has covered the entire factory emblem in the stock grille? I am having my stock grille painted and I don't like the T emblem. I am painting the grille surround the color of the truck and the "mesh" part matte black. so I was going to cover the emblem in carbon fiber and then maybe add a white T on top of it. just wondering if this will interfere with the TSS Sensor? anybody done something similar?

Snow, ice and dirt disrupt the sensor... So putting anything else that covers it will 100% disrupt the sensor

Really. If your cruise radar does not work in the fog, snow and heavy rain I would think a big "T" in front of it would not be good.
Dude, it's a safety feature. Why dick with it?

I absolutely hate the TSS on these trucks. aftermarket grilles look like total shit because of the stupid thing. I don't want a Pro style grille. guess I will paint mine and just leave the emblem alone.

Actually the TSS works fine on mine using the Lens Tint spray. Did a few coats, worked fine for a month so then I threw another coat to make it blacked out. Zero issue with TSS in any way. Now a piece of solid carbon overlay may be a stretch.

I'm planning to try some vinyl tint over mine. If I got some left over I might try and test tonight.

TSS is kind of useless on this truck, but it might save us on insurance rates, my rates went down a little lower.

The lane departure warning Im used to. But that auto braking, hang on! I experienced it once.. Emergency stop in the rain. I was on the pedal THEN it decided to lock up on its own. Interesting experience.

Not at home and most pics on tablet but this is the emblem before I used one of the gray toyota emblem overlays to give it contrast..

I officially suck at vinyl wrap. The only way I can make it cooperate for me is using soapy water. This job will probably bubble and peel, oh well...

Test drive tonight, I'll report back.

Mine is partially covered. I put a black sticker over the Toyota logo. Basically an overlay. All the sensors function properly. I use cruise control to and from work daily. No issues unless the weather is bad which is normal.

Also drove like this with no issues

Yes and no. There are clips. Then there are pegs with push on locking washers. The pegs broke when I tried to release the washers.

No problems cover the emblem, it's pretty thick plastic to begin with.

I’m testing a 3D printed replacement emblem now. Tried to Make it as thin as possible. Doing a few different designs like the “TOYOTA” heritage logo. I hate the large “T” stock.

I would definitely like to see this and all the options once you get it all done.
