I got rid of my dog today...sad but with a happy ending

    I have two pitbulls (raised them from pups) and they're great but the older one gets annoyed easily with my son Cain and has snipped at him before. The younger one is like a mama bear and is wonderful...
    Yesterday was the last straw though. He snipped at my son with me right there so I have to say goodbye; sort of.
    Thankfully, my brother-in-law and his wife took him in so there is a happy ending. :cool:

    And just to throw it out there, this situation could have happened with any breed, the fact that its a pit means nothing! I used to have one and it was the sweetest and most loyal dog.

    Yeah, he's actually in a better home now so that's a good feeling. He's got a HUGE back yard now and a female Pit that he gets along with. So things worked out better than we could have hoped for, thank God.

    Very true. This could be any breed. In fact, the reason he is not social is my fault completely as an owner. I did not socialize him properly when he was young like I did with my younger Pit. I wish that I had.:(

    My friends 5 year old Pitbull is the nicest dog on the face of the Earth. I love taking her places and showing people how nice she is. Most people are terrified at first simply because she is a Pit.
