I'm in the market for a bed extender mainly to handle my quad on long trips. I am confident that tie downs would be sufficient but I like the peace of mind the extender would offer on 300+ mile trips.

I've looked around some but I'm curious to see what you guys think/use with your own trucks. 07 short bed btw.

I've seen another aftermarket extender called a Versagate. I think it's sold by automatcentral.com. I don't believe it's as heavy duty as that truckcandy one but it's definitely cheaper pricewise.

I have the one from the dealership and love it. Since I bought the truck there, they give me like 25% off all parts (or something like that). It was about $200.

I also have the Toyota OEM one and have no complaints about it. I spray painted it so it blends in more.

I found this same extender by versagate at Amazon.com for 115$. There isn't any reviews yet though so i'm nervous about it. It honestly looks flimsy. The one from truckcandy for motorcycles and quads looks good, but its expensive.

I like this a lot!! I have the AMP one and I can't use it unless I have the bike sideways. I can't use it either w/ 2 bikes....I'm doing the math right now

Hey could you please let us know how it goes when you get it? i saw it on Amazon and it looks ok, it also fits in the bed rails so thats kinda cool and its cheap compared to others so could you please let us know if its solid enough and if its right for the price?

    Thanks

Phantom just posted that its a little flimsy but it does the job for everyday stuff. i think i'm gonna spend the money and order the westin moto one for my dirtbikes. Its a pain in the ass strapping in the bikes, the ramp, the gear and shit. I'd rather just get the extender that is pictured above with the bike in the back from truck candy. I'll let you know how that one is.
