Thanks for that @crashdb this info is accurate, the 1.00" spacer might be just a hair long though, if it is, it will prevent the screw from gripping the stem of the ball, a slightly shorter bushing will take care of that, or just sand one end a bit.

I use an iPad mini on my truck, I use the smaller phone/small tablet mount with a static joint. It hold the mini perfectly without being too big and obtrusive when the mini is not in.

Thanks. Trying to build a solution utilizing some different hardware as I freakin hate RAM mounts.

You are a rare breed my friend, not too many people hate them. I hate their "X-grip" and I hate that they refused to work with me on bulk pricing so I could sell their stuff...
anyway, that's one of the reasons I feel the DMM is so great, I designed it with the intent of it being used for more than just these mounts, you can build and bolt anything to it, all you need is a 10-32 screw to hold the two together.

I've just found their performance to be exceptionally mediocre. Do they work? Yeah. Do they work as well as they could? Not even close. Biggest issue seems to be the plastic on plastic nature of their sockets and the inability to hold long term over rough terrain. Simply put, the stuff just slips.

BTW...I'd love to try to find a solution for mounting things in a 200 series Land Cruiser if you're ever lookiing for a new challenge. ;-)

Who’s running an iPad 9.7 with their DMM?

I work out of town so I don’t currently have my truck here with me. Just want to see how the iPad 9.7 looks mounted on the DMM. I have a busted iPad mini that I could get fixed if the 9.7 is too big. Just wanted to see if anyone has pics of their 9.7 mounted

    TIA

I used to use my 10.5, which is about the same as the 9.7. The mini works better in my opinion

    Thanks!!
I’ll probably get my mini fixed, just wanted to see what a 9.7 or similar would look like mounted. Can’t wait to get home to my truck and hopefully my DMM is waiting for me lol

It was this video that led me.to your mount, when I saw it.. I stopped the video, and went and ordered it right then and there.

Installed mine today. Such a clean and sleek look. Super easy to install too. Thanks again OP! I bought the fast wireless charger to mount to it that’s listed below. But the ball on the back of it is smaller than what will fit in the arm. I’ll have to find a ball that I can mount to the back of the charger. Then it’ll be fully functional.

Thank you, it was an easy task that turned out well. I’m very happy with the contrast.
