Rustoleum 2 in 1 paint primer. Just a semi gloss (I know it looks pretty glossy)

We were rotating my tires and it was a good time to knock it out.

Just about 5 minutes prep per wheel (don't really need to sand it down totally bare but always could if you wanted to)

Just ordered a set of 16/4.5BS/0 offsets! TRD Tacoma Pro 16" wheels will be for sale once these are on! How are these wheels with moderate off road? I know they are light but strong. Has anyone taken them off road with solid results?

So my trd tacoma pro wheels are 16x7, +13 offset. These f5s are 16x8. Does that mean they will be an 1" thicker, but also the diameter will be slightly smaller lessening my lift from tires? Also, since these stick out a bit further than my pro wheels, the thickness shouldn't matter in terms of coming too close to the internals like my JBA UCAs? Because there is more offset?

    In other words:
Current TRD Tacoma Pro Wheels: 16x7 / 13 offset / BS unknown
    F5s: 16x8 / 0 offset / 4.5BS

Wouldn't this mean that even though I gain an inch in width, its now pushed out a half inch further so the distance to the internals like the UCAs will be about the same?

16 x 8, 3.5 bs on a 265/75. So glad I did the 3.5", lift is 5100's, 887's, JBA and ECGS up front, Ikon 3 Leaf Progressive AAL rear with 3º Shims. Rides like butta!

It's an '18 and came with dust caps up front.

47BD7DCC-28AF-4669-AA77-A40F852AFFE3.jpg Finally got my wheels and tires mounted up! Had to remove front mud flaps and still have rubbing on front fender and a little on cab mount on full flex. Have an icon stage 4 coming in from wheelers so hopefully that fixes some of the rubbing. Still have to do alignment as well, but stoked on the new combo! Mahalo to everyone on here for helping. Was pretty bummed but can’t really tell until you get close. Anybody have any tips on how to cover them up?D44FD409-C014-4CDA-B0D0-AAA58847AB18.jpg

You can ask them next time to pin plate your wheel on the balance.. that will never happen again.

Thanks! Scratches aren’t too bad but still sucks that all 4 were scratched before they were even on the truck. I told them to be careful when balancing so it doesn’t scratch but they said it has never happened before . Gonna try cover it up with some black epoxy or paint

Regarding center caps for the F5’s...
I’m curious if anyone can confirm that the brushed w/ red TRD lettered caps fit diameter wise? I’m contemplating machining a groove in mine to fit a cap of some sort.

I work at a dealership and was standing there with my tech when he mounted my tires, we don't have a 6 lug pin plate so we had to use the center ring. After explaining to him the wheels were easy to scratch on the balancing machine, he proceeded to lift it up and set it down right on the thread post of the balancer and guess what? He scratched it! Super small but I suspect that's how it's happening, they are heavy so when the techs lift it onto the machine, they first rest it on the threads before moving it into position. Needless to say, he didn't scratch the other three. By the looks of the pic above, the same thing happened here.

I been a tech for more then 15 years now and yes I do understand about the wheels being heavy because of the tire size.. but there is always a back or front cone/collet that holds the wheel in place and slides on the threaded shaft therefore If the tech just sat the wheel down on the shaft prior to pushing the wheel to the back of the faceplate of the balancer then that was the technicians bad for not setting the wheel on the cone prior to pushing the wheel back and securing it with the lock hub nut.

Yeah, that’s why he didn’t do it on the next 3, lol. If you do it with a wheel that has a center cap, likely not issue with most wheels, especially OEM because the finish is more durable. With The F5, a little extra precaution is required by the installer.

Replaced the black SCS decals with white to add a little contrast.

    -

Working with SCS has been a great experience. I had no issue with availability, they offer a quality product at a relatively good price price, have super fast shipping and excellent customer service.

    -

I sent Vuth an email inquiring about these white decals after I received the wheels and he sent them out same day at zero cost to me.
