    @LocoLocal Yea bobcats and big cats in general are crazy quiet. I remember in Oregon we heard what I can only assume was a mountain lion and we got the fuck out of their quick. All we were shooting that day was a .22 and 9mm on a logger road, i doubt i couldve taken it down. There is a big cat sanctuary/research center out in Front Royal I would love the chance to get access there and see some big cats.

    First time I went Squatchin I heard that bloody cry and had no idea mountain lions made that noise. It was terrifying! Learning animals sounds is something everyone should do haha. less chance of dying in the woods. I forget where in WA you said you were from?

    Yea, about that... I never want to encounter a mountain lion. I can think of a million other things I rather have to do than that.. armed or not, thats scary AF!

    Too be fair I never saw it, only heard it. I bet it saw us though. It probably still was scared by the gunshots even if they were tiny calibers.

    Even scarier... See/watching you and you have no clue. Fast and strong and can attack in an instant. Yep, fuck that!

    When it comes to paint and recommendations, I ask 2 people.

    @PyritePirateBill and @3pooches

    I agree. Get it professionally done .There is a power coat place down off terminal road near Fort Belvoir that does bikes and auto parts. Good people there but I'm sure it would be pricey. I tried dipping them bronze myself and it turned out pretty bad. What I found was it looked great in pictures but horrible in person. It lasted a week before I tore it off.
