nitto terra grappler question

Tomorrow is the day I will lift my truck. I got everything except the diff drop and the centering bolts/pins for the rear.(coming next day air) My 1 1/2 old daughter likes to hide daddy's key's,wallet,cell..... Anyway I have a friend that works @ discount tire and he is setting me up with 4 285/75/16 terra grapplers for $671.00 out the door. When I have them put on will I need to trim anything while I'm there? Will I need a spacer?

Don't know about the spacer, but remove the mud flaps before you go, more than likely you will have to trim. I don't know much about that tire, I was planning to go with it, but changed.
The shop can do the trimming if you want, but it is real easy to do, and not rocket science. If you decide to do yourself, when you head home take turns a little wider if you hear rubbing you will most likely see it when you get home. Then while at home cut the wheels hard to left and right and you will see the rubbing areas.
I have some pic's of the areas I had to cut, had both of them done in less than 5 minutes.
If I am doing some crawling over rocks and log's etc, I still get rubbing but it is something I can live with since I don't do alot of it, only during hunting.

yes, I was going to mount them on the stock wheels for now.

 

can I run a small spacer? if so what size?

 

1/4 inch should work fine if I remember correctly.

 

sorry to butt in but if i get 285/75/16 tires and put them on stock wheels i will rub on the upper controle arm. and the only way to fix that is to get wheel spacers. My question would be is there any other way to make this work with out spacers, and how bad is the rubbing?

 

spacers or new wheels, I have heard about people grinding on the upper control arm, but I would never in any situation consider doing that. Sounds dangerous. I personally dont care for spacers either.

 

may have to remove some bolts inside the fender flares as well.

 

damn that sucks, i like my wheels and want to keep them.
