this show is the most epic show ever. epic fail that is. whales are cool and all, but what my japanese braddahs are doing isn't cool, but sht, the whale wars people hella fail at stopping them. if they were hardcore, they'd start sinking the whalers n shit and shoot at them with real guns, and no reality show.

that captain dude is hilarious. esp his hella lazy eye

    this is just an opinion:
i think the ecoterrorists have bigger issues they could be tackling, like the slaughter of thousands of cows so we, and they, can have our tasty hamburgers and steaks. or what about the millions of chickens that the world consumes each year. lest i forget the shrimp, look at how many of these tasty critters get killed for our enjoyment.
yeah they somehow dont care about these animals enough to wage a war against their takers. it probably just wouldn't make good TV
whaling has been going on for hundreds of years, now its slowed down to where only one country is doing it. I think the whales can hold their own. just let it be

lol people eating tasty animals ftw.

but they do kill whales that are endangered and have a very hard time reproducing in the wild. if we grew whales to eat, like cattle i wouldn't really give a shit, but we don't. the only reason they are endangered are because of US, unfortunately. and plus, whales are much more intelligent that chickens and cattle. and they do kill kinda alot of them in comparison to the population...japanese people are kinda crazy. i would know. lol

lol don't worry, i'm not an environmentalist AT ALL.

I could care less what the Japanese are doing. At least they are using everything off the whales that they kill.

I havent been on their web page but in one episode they listed the requirements to be on sea sheppard, and one was be a vegan, or at least vegitarian so no meat eaters on their crew. They also banned any ADULT BEVERAGE of any kind. So I guess I will never be on that ship....EVER. I get, (kind of) what they are doing, and mainstream media is listening, don't kill whales, I get it. But then what? Cows, chickens and pigs are next? Next we'll hear is how my asparagus consumption is killing kids in Africa?? And no BEER! Soylent Green, It's what's for dinner. YUMMY!!

The vegetarian thing I don't get, but the no alcohol makes perfect sense. They have to be on call at all times 24/7. Same thing with our ambulance service. You don't want Joe Blow piloting the helicopter to kamakazi that fucker into the deck cause he's done too many jello shooters out of the cooks cleavage.

Majority of foreign naval services allow some amount of drinking onboard their deployed ships. Drink on a not to interfere with duty availability and in a limited amount (usually not more than 2 beers or the equivalent)

An ambulance job and ship board life are different imo...You get to go home at the end of your shift and have a beer with dinner if you want right?? That doesn't happen on a ship...Going home consists of climbing down some stairs and sleeping or working on some other project. Totally capable of having a brew or two in time to be sobered up to work.
On that note- pilots usually stick to a 12 hours bottle to brief type of rule- and most of the time that rule with personal moderation works out just fine.

Nope, we're oncall 24hrs a day for 4 days. No alcohol at all during that point unless you're going to suck on the swabs for IVs.
Also Navy generally has extra crew trained in excess of what their job actually entails. The sea Shepard doesn't have extra crew. And they run a skeleton crew at night. No room to drink there.

Not to mention volunteers aren't as disciplined as Navy crew. :p
