 A little ironic considering I watched Ralph breaks the internet last night at the theatre.

That one totally got me. I'd just clicked off the WTF forum and got distracted for a moment, and when I looked back this was on the screen. I studied the whole damn thing looking for what the WTF.

Then I scroll down and see this post.
The answer is I'm the WTF. And I don't read the text.

If you ever get into developing web sites that developer view will be your best friend, and you'll spend a lot of time going WTF chrome, firefox, safari, edge why you no display my page the same.

Well this is an interesting conundrum, I installed a driver for my keyboard (old PS/2 connected smart office keyboard, model EZ-8000) in an attempt to get the accessory keys to work and now my keyboard only works in BIOS, no ability to rollback the driver.
When I go into device manager I get a code 39 (incomplete driver).
Attempt to update and it says that the best driver is already installed.
    Reboot was ineffective also.

    Yeah.
Ouch, dude. That thing is OLD. Like more than 15 years old. It was old in 2010. I don't think there are any "official" drivers out there. There are newer gaming keyboards with "macro" keys that you can program to do what you want. I'm sure there's a registry hack you could do to eliminate it, just don't know what that would be. Can you just uninstall it?

 I got it free a few years ago and quite like it, if my guess is correct it's mechanical and I absolutely love the sound, however I find typing on my MacBook easier (less prone to not fully press a key), I should probably look for a replacement, I have a bluetooth keyboard I could use in the interim.
I can't find the driver to uninstall, just the download to delete, however I don't know where to look for specific drivers to uninstall.

    Yeah.
Running Windows 10? Search for Device Manager, see if it shows under Keyboards?

    Yeah.
Huh, weird. Maybe it is an application? Sorry, if I had it here in front of me and admin rights I might be able to figure it out.

When that Chinese dude from Microsoft calls, have him log in and take a look.

2 questions, this PSU has an additional switch on the back that has H A and L positions, does this tell the fan to operate on High, Automatic, or Low?
Also, on the front of the machine there’s this open bay that’s not actually open, is this a internal/external dock for a hard drive?

    Yeah.
Not sure about the PSU switch, never had one like that. The dock does look like it would hold a SATA drive based on the connectors in the back.

Probably fan speed control on the PSU.

    Can this be done?

My mom lives in a retirement apartment complex and they provide the wifi and it's garbage. I'd like to create separate SSID network for security and reliability. I'd be using the apartment's wifi as the "ISP" and installing some sort of wifi router. These are uncharted waters for me because I'm used to the enterprise world and this is something I've never even had to contemplate.

    Suggestions/ideas/words to google?

    Garbage security wise or speed?

    Yeah.
As @95 taco asked, what are the actual symptoms?

If weak signal is the issue, you would need to find a spot to hide a WiFi Extender (there's a Google term for you) between her and the apartment router. That might be a bit tough unless there's a spot inside her apartment that gets a good signal that you could put the extender, then that extends that to places inside. If she gets a good signal from the extender, but the extender has a weak signal from the main router, it's not going to help.

If signal is good but speeds are slow, there's not much you can do. You'd have to get a dedicated WiFi router hard-wired to their connection to the internet, but you'd still be sharing internet bandwidth. She would have her own WiFi bandwidth, though. Time to make some friends?

The problem is a weak signal. Her smartphone and laptop struggle to maintain connection. And, I want to add a wireless printer to the mix. There's no place to put a repeater other than what I can put in her apartment.

Do you know where the router is located? Could you possibly find someone in an apartment between your mothers apartment and the router that would let you plug in a wireless extender? Once it’s set up it’s “set and forget” unless it needs the random reboot. While it would be a giant pain it would be one solution.
Another option would be run an Ethernet cable to the apartment from the router and have a wired access point that is wired to the router (improved speed and connectivity).

I think you’d need admin rights to the apartment router in order to add another one...and I doubt the folks running the place would allow that. Can you order up a separate data independent from the apartment complex, but on your dime? I can’t see where they’d be all that bent out of shape over it if it doesn’t cost them anything. If they will, I don’t expect they’ll cut a break on rent because their “free” WiFi is a selling feature for them.

How’s the cell network? Would a 4G hotspot be a possibility?
