Currently working on the garage. Need to put a 2nd coat of paint on the walls and ceiling and then gonna epoxy the floor dark blue. Its a 2 car garage. I'm debating on how many fluorescent shop lights to put up on the ceiling, 2 or 3 units that hold 2 bulbs each? Also which bulbs will be the brightest and generate more light throughout garage, T8 bulbs 5000k or 6500k OR T12 bulbs 5000k or 6500k? I started to look at lowes yesterday and gonna look online on home depot.

If you doing a garage man depending where you live. If it's not heated you want to use High Output type fixtures . They will light in the cold and they put out a lot more light per bulb than the regular house kind. Maybe cost more but worth the extra cash. Bulbs last way longer.

You can get them depending again where you live in 8 foot or 4 foot bulbs.

If you have the fixtures already then you want the kind from Phillips lighting called " More White ". Not sure the temperature. Let me look.
5000 k. Pretty close to nature sunlight.

T8 is what i did. I put 3 fixtures in my oversized 2 car. 2 T8's per fixture. If your ceiling is white it will reflect a lot of light.

    Plenty of Light

Thats very bright! I love that! Are those 5k bulbs or 6500k?
The ceiling is gonna be white, walls light blue and floor navy blue.

Those look like 5k bulbs. 6.5k are too blue. The more lights you have the less shadows you will have.

Gonna have to go back to home depot for a 3rd light but I love the way it came out. Went with the diamond plate housing from home depot and T8 4100k bulbs. Its pretty damn bright in there. Now onto to get the floors started this weekend. :D

Sorry never replied. Currently staying on NW side of Sa. Location is all dependant on where you'll work, inner or outer city, traffic conditions. Before this I lived 5 mins east of downtown and I loved it cause it was center of town. What exactly ya looking for as far as house and yard size?

Update: Garage is for the most part DONE! It looks great. Ill post pics up tomorrow. :D

You will love the T-8's, They have electronic ballasts and they will last years longer, so will the lamps. The most important thing with any fluorscent fixture is GROUND it. I switched to the T-8's

    Love em!!
