Got the winch mounted. The mount is hidden which made it a little harder.

Nice, that's sort of the look I'm planin to go with for mine except I'm just using .25 in steel to make a plate that goes between the frame rails instead of a hitch, yours looks sweet

that would be me, I didn't make it. But i know people that have with the mag light clips for D cell lights.
I can't remember where i got mine but it looks like this

    http://www.amazon.com/Rugged-Ridge-11238-05-Mounting-Fairlead/dp/B002QSHIC2

except mine has 4 clips instead of 2, and they are metal. This is why I didn't do the mag light thing, they are plastic.

BRP27- I like that system, I have a 1999 and want to so something just like that, can you post some more details on that set up? I see you have a curt hitch on the front, I have one on the rear of mine and it's a snap to install on rear, is that made for the front or did you make one fit? ALSO Post more pictures and info if you can , thanks. Kevin

The bumper hitch is a Curt made for the Frt of a Tacoma, fit up pretty easy, got it off of E-bay, they sell them other places on the web also.

I started by buying a 10000lbs winch and receiver mounting plate from Harbor Freight. Here is link to a test of a harbor freight 9000lbs winch
    http://www.moabjeeper.com/articles/general/listing.cfm?articleID=353

    Pictures/ other peoples work
http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c320/ua_taco/winch plate and winch and lights/

    http://www.landroverworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=17328#post91632

So I cut the tube off the receiver plate and mounted the winch to the receiver plate. I took my bumper and tupperware off and set it on top of the Curt receiver. I measured and studied waited a few days and decided on two plates with gussets welded to the receiver. There are 4 studs welded to the two plates. The studs were drilled and welded to the two plates from the bottom. Then the plates were welded to the receiver. This was a problem area compromise since the 4 bolts on the back of the two plates on the reciever could not be thru bolted because of the skid plate clearance.

There is not a lot more to tell, the plate is the same thickness as the gusset or brace on the Curt (3/16). The Curt was made to be used on the front. The plate for the winch mount is a reciever mount that I cut the tube off of. The 8 studs on the plate I would use larger ones if I was making this again, I thru drilled 4 1/2 in dia bolts to beef up the mount and to make up for the 8 studs. The welded plate is 3/16 over hang off the back of the Curt to keep from interferring with the skid plate and still get the winch as far back as possible. The solenoid fit on top of motor. You can access the clutch and plug the remote thru the tupperware.

Before you do any welding set the winch in place and study the interferences. Put the Bumper and tupperware on and test fit before welding. When I assembled it after welding I mounted the tupperware to the bumper and mounted the bumper and tupper assembled. There is not much clearance to assemble the tupperware after you mount the bumper. If you need to work on the winch it is 6 bolts to remove the bumper and tupper together.
