16’s will clear just fine. I forget what wheels you have.

The stock 16” snowflake rims on the Tacoma also came standard on the Tundra. I’m running the 3rd Gen TRD OR 16” Wheels.

They’re a direct replacement, however you need 16” wheels to clear the calipers. Some modification would need to be made to the Stock banjo bolts in order to work, however I always recommend people to get new brake lines.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
You gotta remember... Tundras came with the same 16 inch wheels the 1st gen TRDs came with.

This is my Tundra brakes behind my stock 16 inch wheels.

All 16" Toyota spares fit over Tundra calipers as well, I've tried 1st gen and 2nd gen 16" spares.

Edit: although I did have 1" spacers on, not sure if that would change fitment. Might be a good thing to doublecheck.

Thats what I thought and my measurements concurred. Then a band wagon of -no steelies fit with tundra calipers - started. I have had no issues. :deadhorse:

Only certain Steelies won’t fit. @turbodb has an excellent article on it on his website.

There's 2 tundra brakes. One is smaller (193mm iirc) and is what was recalled. The bigger ones are 231mm (iirc) and came standard behind the 17" wheels.

...Our stomachs satisfied for the moment, we continued down the mountain - only a single planned overlook between us and the bottom, our road spitting us out near the confluence of the Bighorn and Devil's Canyons which we could already see in the distance... it was at this overlook that tragedy struck. (Tragedy is perhaps a bit strong a word to use in this case, but what unfolded was definitely a bummer...)

All SCS 16" rims will fit the Tundra Brake, but most 16" rims fit either way. There's a thread on one of the 4Runner sites that has a list of compatible rims (it's a bit dated now tho)

    I have mods
Got my brake lines installed and the new clutch line done yesterday. I also ended up with a new brake master cylinder since I managed to order the wrong replacement reservoir. I didn't want to spend all the time draining the reservoir to change the front brake lines and not have a nice, clean one that I could see the fluid level in. I also rationalized that it was the original master with over 315k miles on it so it wouldn't hurt to replace the whole thing at one go. Turned into more of a pain in the ass then expected and I manager to get brake fluid EVERYWHERE. But the job is done now and brakes and clutch are bled and everything is working great. And I removed the sway bar while I was at it.

New Crown lines, I'm sure everyone has seen similar before. Only the front lines since the rear got a new line when I did the leafs. The original lines were definitely showing their age.

The original brake master cylinder. This is why I wanted to at least replace the reservoir. Even shining a flash light thru the opposite side, it was hard to verify the fluid level. But since I screwed up on the replacement reservoir, I ended up running down to the parts store and they fortunately had a new, non-ABS master with reservoir in stock.

This was the replacement reservoir. Looks like it fits but it was leaking fluid out of the rubber grommets in the laster, which I also replaced. My bad for thinking that a newer, 2003, non-ABS reservoir would be the same as my 1999 non-ABS reservoir. They aren't and have different mounts to the master.

So that came out spilling brake fluid all over the place, and then in with the new and correct master cylinder. Which also spilled brake fluid all over the engine bay after bench bleeding it in the truck and then me failing to get the brake lines attached before the reservoir emptied out. I just could not get the tube nuts started into the master for the life of me and ended up having to unbolt the master again, get the flare nuts started and then reattach the master. Such a mess!

Then I was able to get to the clutch line. The OEM one had seen much better days.

I think most steelies need a 1/4" spacer to clear tundra calipers FWIW
