Why does my 19' Off-Road DCSB have HomeLink?

Wish mine had it, question for those that do have it, are the buttons backlit? I see some are and some aren’t on eBay. My 2016 Sienna had backlit buttons, but it also had backlit cruise control buttons too that my Tacoma doesn’t have.

 

My 2018 TRD OR did not come with HomeLink. Could this be a regional distributor thing? Mine's SE purchased in St. Augustine, FL.

I just went ahead and bought a mirror from Amazon and will be doing the "plug and play" install next week.

 

Mine are backlit.

 

The Tacoma brochures are not updated to often, neither is their website. For instance for '18 the Tacoma brochure and website still said SR's came with the monochrome screen between the tach and the speedo. It was in fact updated that year to the multifunction LCD color screen.

What you see on their website is not always the truth. They obviously must have updated the packages this year and havent reflected that on the website/brochures.

Yes, backlit in blue. Still no backlighting on the cruise control stalk though.

 

Canadian Sport and OR have had it as standard since 2016 I believe.

 

My 2018 OR with tech package and leather seats did NOT have the Homelink mirror. I actually didn’t even think to look for it as an option, believing it was standard equipment. Quite the surprise when I got home to program my garage door opener and discovered it didn’t have Homelink. There is something about a garage door opener clipped to the sun visor which seems dated. Like roll-up windows, and no passenger side mirror.

I found a Toyota OEM Homelink mirror on eBay and replaced it myself.

 

I just got a 2019 OR with tech and premium and I have it.

 

Why would you be pissed? You knew what you were getting when you bought your truck and drove it off the lot. It did not come pre-installed on any Tacomas in 2017. It was just added to the 2018/2019 line up.

 

I wonder if they’re putting the homelink mirrors in Canadian models just ‘cause? Mine’s a 2018 Off Road, brochure says not available but I’ve got it anyway.

My '16 OR AC M/T has Homelink, Heated seats, Dual Zone CC, and Tow package. All part of Canadian OR. No "tech package" though.
