I need a TRD grill for my 17 Tacoma

When I thought it was over its not. Toyota located a grill in California and had it shipped to the dealership in my area instead of the body shop that was waiting for it. The dealership had no idea why the grill was sent to them and it sat for several more days. I made more calls and the grill finally made it to the body shop.
I go to pick up my truck and find Toyota sent the wrong grill. Its a black SR5 I think with a black trim surround. My truck has a chrome TRD grill. For the life of me I don't understand why this has been so difficult. I may still need to pick up one of these grills offered on this post. I'm going to see what Toyota says Monday first. Unreal!

Wait, you have a chance to get a different grille and you’re staying with the cheese grater?

 

I am in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

 

I paid 149$ for Trd pro grille aftermarket identical to oem with the Toyota letters on Amazon

 

If you still need it I have a take off. Chrome cheese grater style off a 17 OR. Boxed up with all tabs intact

 

I have Grille and Bezel from '17 OR. Half tab is snapped. Can be glued back on

 

I thought Toyota would have resolved this with my grill being replaced but I have had nothing but trouble with them and now they refuse to replace the TRD grill because I am violating my warranty installing parts that are TRD and not SR which is what my truck is. They had no problem taking the money for a TRD grill from my insurance but refuse to ship me a TRD grill to replace the one that was damaged in my truck. They will only ship me what my VIN tells them my truck is.
To make matters worse the body shop got tired of waiting for this to be straightened out and installed the SR grill and now I am stuck with it.
I was very clear with the parts that had to be ordered but when the body shop tried to explain it to Toyota it became a nightmare and my truck sat for weeks. There is no excuse for this stupidly. I went through Toyota customer service and got nowhere. They are happy to sell me a TRD grill but as far as they are concerned they did nothing wrong. The TRD grill is also on back order and there are 60 orders pending with other Tacoma owners in the same boat I am since early October.
We also got jacked over on my 13 Sienna this year as well. I love Toyota products but Toyota sucks otherwise. We will be buying a Honda Pilot next year instead of a Highlander we were talking about.

 

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I have the grill with emblem, no trim bezel, off my 2016 Off Road. It has maybe 5000 miles on it. I'm in NE Ohio if you're still looking

 

I’d be happy to trade I have a TRD chrome grille in my shed off my 16, but looks like we would have to do it all by mail which may not be worth it.

 

Jeez man, sorry to hear about your troubles. More and more lately people just seem to not give a shit about doing things right.

I have been overwhelmed by the offers from people trying to help me out with this. There has been at least 20 offers. I was hoping to get a couple responses. That is unreal. I'm trying to sort out what works best for me right now. I really do appreciate all of you doing this. Tacoma World rocks!

 

Ive had time to cool down with how Toyota handled replacing my grill and how they handled my wife's Sienna when we tried to get them to replace the front struts recently when they were leaking and under warranty. They told us the leak was just a seep twice until the warranty expired and would not replace them. At 39000 they are now saying I have a leak. I found another example of this on line.
I wont sell the cars but I will not buy anymore from them. I have owned Toyota's since 1991.
Thats sad.

I have a grill coming for my truck now. Again I really appreciate everyone's offers. Its up to like 25 now.
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. You just made mine a lot better and it made me feel pretty good knowing so many people were willing to step up and offer to help. Ill be paying that forward.
