I built the headlights myself, got everything from retrofit source.
The light bar is a 30", sorry don't have a link but it was pretty simple to install. Just simply bolted it to the frame, lined up perfect.

It's amazing how much a rim or tire upgrade changes the stance/appearance of a truck. The details... The less-is-more details. A bed cover, headlights, even just swapping or moving an emblem is what makes it have that subtle character. Not too much mod... Yet it makes it completely unique. Function and Form forged into Fine Formunction.

I say the 95-97 grill & headlights are the most symmetrical and best looking. I'd put them on the 04 if the hoods matched.

Just got this recently, did the general preventative maintenance like new timing belt, oil change, rotors & pads. I have a lot of deer in my area, but I am really hating this brush guards existence.. what about you all? Any other basic things you would suggest to make this truck look better. thanks

@vorabora99 Could put a beefy back bumper on to even it out? Also, I'd get some side step slides on it.

That thing looks mint! How many miles are on it?

Hm possibly. I just feel like from the side the thing looks way too big for the small size of these tacomas.. seeing your little thumbnail of your truck, just looks better to me lol.
and thanks! the paint is really good compared to some other 1st gens ive seen that are just chalky. It has 154,800 miles. got it with 154,200 just 2-3 weeks ago max.

@MitochondriaMan I actually like the 97 to 2000 composite headlight with the straight hood best.

True, I remember when the last first gens changed the headlights in 01 I hated it at first. I loved my 98 straight... I don't know why but, besides the yellowing, I just like the oldschool square headlights. Probably because as a kid my family had a half dozen different 80's & 90's 22re's before the logo & tacomas it was TOYOTA grill & tailgate. We also had an 80' truck and an 82' landcruiser wagon with the round stanley headlights.

I think the smaller headlights leave more room for the mouth. Even though the 01-04 curved hoods def have a taller grill, still the smaller size of the headlights make the front of the truck look relatively bigger. It's all personal preference, they all have their character.

    So...
If I got a 98-00 hood and a 95-97 grill... would it bolt right up to an 04? I'm sure somebody has done it setashi?
