They make you pay $2 extra for certain parts of the yard? Pick-n-Pull just makes you pay $2 for entry and that’s it.

They have a “Premium” section of hard to find cars at their main store in Rancho Cordova, but it’s no additional charge. The parts are just slightly more expensive.

I found an Ambulance and a school bus there once.

I've never been 5o any other pull your own parts type junkyards outside of LA so no surprise there. We used to have another one but it's gone & not sure if that was the one that caught on fire back in the day.

Yeah, here it's $3 to get in, then another $2 to get in the premium/late model section which as said sucks & it's small. I stopped paying the $2 to go in there but I guess I will be tomorrow.

Trans looked like it was gone. Engines still there. Body’s pretty fucked. But there’s probably shit to be had

The leather wrapped steering wheel wouldn’t be a bad thing to grab and just pay someone to redo the leather

Make sure you have a 19mm and Torx sockets though

I won't bother with that steering wheel. I do want a new one but not a leather wrapped one. I'll check it out though.

I only want small bits & pieces, no major engine or drivetrain parts.

You might need a puller. I got a new steering wheel for my 5-lug and I couldn’t yank it off, which some people are successful with.

Same goes for the two IS300 wheels I pulled. I yanked and yanked but it would budge.

Let me know how the center console looks. I could use a new one.

I’ve shipped a lot of heavy, large, and/or oblong shaped objects in my life. Something like that won’t cost more than $20-$30.

    So demanding.

I have yet to this day seen an intact 5VZ airbox yet. They’re either gone, destroyed, or beat up to hell.

Ok. Yeah I'm only gonna grab it if it's not f'd up cause I know people want them. I don't need one, was lucky to find a brand new top cover for $50 a few months ago & I already modified mine to use new larger bumpers for the bottom section that always breaks on these.

I bet it's f'd up though. No way that part would still be there judging bybthe way the interior looks.

    ???

I’ve been to nine different junkyards over the last three weeks and saw three Tacomas and four 4Runners. Out of the seven of them, two of them still had the air box left and they were for the 2RZ.

It looks like it’s there. @Empty_Lord snapped a pic:

How is the junkyard selection in Southern California? I may venture a trip down there in January with my trailer to grab some horns given the selection is decent.

Yeah I saw that but what I was saying that it's probably only still there cause it's fucked up. That interior is stripped, the console would have been one of the first things to go after the seats if it was still good. But I'll see tomorrow.

My bottom half is messed up. The mounting ears are cracked and the PO snapped the lower lid off.

I can't really say cause I've only been to junkyards in LA so nothing to compare to. All the junkyards here in the Valley are mostly in Sun Valley, blocks of just junkyards side by side. Some in Pacoima too which is right next to Sun Valley. Downtown LA there are some too but I'm not too familar with them. Used to do deliveries to them but that was a long time ago & I forget where they all were.

But down here all the junkyards don't let you roam around. You go to the counter & they pull the parts for you. Only Pick Your Part lets you pull your own parts.
