I would reccomend replacing the sidemarker with an led bulb or your housing will begin to burn/fade after a few months. I took mine out completely after i started to notice it before it got too bad. Just a heads up.The DTRLs are fine, since they aren't on high all the time.

Those bulbs burn at a high temp even on factory lights we have seen them burn lenses. I think there was a thread about the dtrl bulbs somewhere in this forum.

These Retros came with bulbs pre-installed. The DTRL lights and marker lights look much dimmer than the OEM factory ones. This is probably due to the reflectors being painted black.

I believe LED's require modification though? Or do they make plug and play ones that just plug right into the factory plugs? Obviously I don't want any burning/melting. :)

Perhaps before starting a new thread someone here could help me out....

Today I had to jump a vehicle. After jumping the other vehicle I noticed my driver side HID headlight is no longer working. I have a multimeter and was curious what kind of voltage I should be getting and at what connections? I don't know if jumping the other car blew the bulb or ballast or something else (all in line fuses seem OK).

    Thanks in advance,
    Arto

Arto check the wire from the harness going to the ballast for 12v. Do not check voltage at the bulb side of the ballast

I assume if I have 12VDC going to both ballast, then i conclude bulb is donezo? Or what is the "igniter" talk I have heard people speak of? Thanks!

Just checked wires going to both ballast from the harness/controller. I have 14.2 VDC on both. Can I check for power coming out of ballast to confirm the ballast is good? Or do you have to roll the ballasts to see if the trouble moves with it?

    Thanks,
    Arto

For future reference what sidemarker led bulbs did you go with?
