KBB on the truck I traded in was 32,000 in Mint condition. I got 34,000 on my trade. So no, I didn’t get screwed there.
I got 2,000 OVER KBB mint condition on my trade, so no, I didn’t get screwed over there. 32,000 is also what I owed on the truck I traded in. I went in the dealership with the mindset of coming out with a new truck and owing close to what owed on what I was trading in. I got out of their at 33,200 for the 2017 TRD OR. I financed it for 60 months at 4.2%! Total financed was 34,552.40 over 60 months.

I bought my truck in October when they were doing year end closeouts. I got a deal and I took it.

Good god you are slow, 33,200 is what you agreed to pay as a package for the trade in. You didn't walk into the dealer and get it for that price, it was part of the package including your trade. Without a trade they would not sell you the truck that low, they made money off you.

Also a 20 second google search and input of 33,200 at 4.2% interest nets a total paid loan of 36,866 and not 34,552. Nice try though.

You don’t even understand how auto loans work. It’s an interest rate, not 4.2% of the total amount. Haha

All this anger lol. Why name call, just have a discussion. Car interest rates are rarely calculated once up front on the amount owing and instead are calculated as interest is accrued daily and charged as per the payment frequency. See the below example from a bank using the numbers you threw out. Total cost of the loan should be $33,200 + ~$3,600 = $36,800

My payment was just under 600.00 a month.

At the end of the day, I got great deal on my 2017 TRD OR and my 2019 TRD Pro. I set aside an entire day when I go to get a new vehicle. I play the game. I usually look at 7-8 sets of numbers before it’s all said and done. Usually when I’m there I pay attention to what’s going on around me. It astounds me how many people just sign away the first time their salesman comes back with the 1st set of numbers.

Back to our regularly scheduled discussion....

Probably between 30 and 31K is what you should shoot for on a 2019 like that. Just an educated guess on what %-age or amount that I got off on my 2018 SR 4cyl that had MSRP of 27,500 (that price included a couple of minor extras) and I paid 24,500. (no trade-in) 3.9% finance rate, for 72 months, same as my credit union was offering. Dealer started out quoting me 5.7% There was a $750 rebate included. I thought that was fair.

For a V6 taco, does the resale value on a double cab vs access cab the same? I sold both a double cab v6 and a single cab 4cyc over the years and they were gone quick.

Double Cab is going to be worth a little more if you were trading in. If you are selling privately, you could probably get the same if you were patient and found the right buyer.

Thanks. Want to gauge the difference. I just don't need a 4 doors truck right now.
