How much higher does your Snow controller show your boost is vs your other gauge? my AEM is showing about a pound less of boost than the snow controller..

 

That's me too!! I dont know which one to believe. I guess a mechanical gauge could confirm.

 

Interesting, its got me curious now.. will have to find someone with a mechanical gauge to help me confirm.. 8lbs sounds about right (thats what my snow gauge reads) at 2k ft elevation, a 2.6, and fully opened exhaust. could still have some belt slip though

 

Me too. Meth boost #s seemed more accurate for the mods I have as well.

 

Finally got my meth in. Was having troubles with it leaking some around the fittings on the pump. Think I finally sorted that out though thanks to @Athlaos . He recommended some of the real teflon tape (plumber's tape is what it was called) that's good for gas & oils, and that seems to have solved my issues. Loving it so far, and I only have it activating based on boost #s at the moment. Need to wire in the wires for IPW though, just too damn cold here to want to work outside for extended periods of time. Truck feels a good bit quicker though!

 

Check the battery, it has full warranty. We started to see lots of Interstates coming back to us in under a year so we stopped carrying them and now just carry the Toyota TrueStart Batteries, same battery, different sticker and longer warranty for the customer. I personally run a Odyssey because overkill.

 

Anyone have some ideas as to how to make a gauge mount like this? @loginfailed perhaps? I know you have a similar one for your truck, but this is the first kind ive seen in a manual. Needless to say, im running out of places for gauges so I am now exploring this as an option..

I was in the same boat as you until 2 weeks ago. I can tell you,you are slipping the belt. I went with the Fleetrunner on page 1 listed for the 2.7/2.8 pulley and it has been a night and day difference. I thought I had belt slip before because of low boost number, but after the belt, I had belt slip for sure because now I hold the boost. Not any higher but it hold the number where as before it would jump from 3.6/1.2/2.5/.7/3.2/1.8 and continue to keep doing that through my whole pull. Now it goes to about 3.6 and hold within a tenth for the whole run. And my AFR has quit bouncing around as it is not constantly trying to adjust for a changing boost. And as for cutting it, I just counted out the ribs and layed the belt on a stainless steel work bench, had a buddy hold the belt and used a new razor and cut through the bottom of the V of the groove. Lifted the belt and razor at the same time after each stroke until we can around to the starting point and made sure I lined it up perfect so there was no "step". Basically cut the whole thing with one smooth razor cut. The cords inside to not run straight and you will run through them and see some when you are done cutting. Just like the outside cut from them.

 

Go with a northstar battery if you can swing it. They are very good quality. Im running a 27F deep cycle in my truck and it is great!

 

It's becoming fairly apparent to me that AEM can't make a boost gauge that reads boost accurately. Similar to how Innovate can't make a properly functioning MTX-L AFR gauge to save their lives.

 

I will buy a new belt just not right now. I plan on getting the rousch tensioner, smaller pulley (can’t decide what size yet) and meth injection kit all in one.
I received my v3 logging cable from ovtune yesterday. No instructions on to use it yet though.

 

I cant be certain it's the aem gauge with the inaccurate reading. Who knows, it could be the snow gauge. Until a test with a mechanical gauge I will have only speculated.

 

So keep my Innovate boost and AEM x-guage AFR? Like what you had/have? The OCD is killing me to not have them the same!

 

Same here, getting the Rousch tensioner and going to a smaller pulley. Just not sure what size.

 

I'm supposed to be getting the v3 cable here soon. I wonder if it's any different than the tactrix cable or not. Now with the announcement that 2019 is dedicated solely to Toyota tuning, I may hold out for the full tune software.

 

I'm not sure what gauges to keep. A mechanical gauge for a test would tell the truth. I may be able to borrow one in the near future. I'll happily share results.
