My right knee feels it. I fractured my knee and tore my ACL in an accident on the bike back in 2012. Driver crushed my knee between his car and my air cleaner before high siding me into the freeway center divider. Now I wear a neoprene knee brace when I ride just to keep it warm as a preventative measure. When it’s cold out, my joints just get super sore but I’m sure plenty of guys here know the feeling.

Never mind, just checked. The pegs are for 2004-2014. They changed mounting bosses in 2015. The older brackets still fit but the newer have 3 mounting bolts instead of two. Then it’s a basic phantom pad. I never was a fan of passenger on the bike but had a girl that insisted so I got the setup to be removeable. It payed off but still took it off after giving her a “ride”.

Parts have been sitting in my garage since the accident. Haha!

Guess I should give my background:

Grew up riding mainly 3 wheel death traps. Was convinced to purchase a 2007 CBR 600RR while in Cali... Didn't end too well. Bike completely destroyed with 317 miles on the clock.

    1931361_47258780094_4872_n.jpg
    1931361_47258770094_4405_n.jpg

Taught me three very important lessons:
    1. Never outride your skill level.
    2. Always ride with a buddy, or make sure people know your route and time frame.
    3. Carry good insurance

Took a break and had an 06 R6 briefly, but not long enough to take pictures of.

Finally found my dream bike, an 05 Ducati 749 dark. Quite possibly one of the sexiest bikes in existence. I loved that thing. I learned a lot working on that bike because I didn't want to pay $120/hr labor fees on top of Ducati part prices.

    1909939_18237235094_1571_n.jpg

I was the 3rd owner. The 1st took immaculate care of the bike, and the 2nd treated her like a dirty, meth addled lot lizard (found that part out too late). The fuel pump assembly went out and the bike went in storage while I was overseas. When I moved back to San Antonio, I got her up and running, only to have the gear box shit the bed going 80 down the freeway, leaving me unable to shift.

Back into storage for another deployment, and I decided to cut my losses and, with the money I was going to spend fixing her, buy a new bike. It took me about 3 years to get back on a bike, this time a cruiser. Found a decent deal on a used Sportster 883 XL Iron, owned by a Harley mechanic, with a Stage 1 already installed. My neighbors hate me because I don't like baffles, especially in a college town where everyone is on their phone or blaring really shitty mumble rap or florida georgia line garbage.

I passed my buddy doing ~60.

They found pieces of it about 100 yds away. A 6 inch chunk of the frame where the VIN was popped off and became a paperweight on my mechanic's desk. Amazingly, no welds gave. The frame buckled and bent. If you look closely you can see my timing chain.

I bounced off the tree and was flung about 25 yds away and went around a square stop sign post (thanks California) before being thrown another 10 yds. Luckily my neck broke my fall.

    Shoei helmets work.

Finally found the folder. The tree fared far better.

Here's my 2016 sportster 48! Bought it brand new then did all the work myself. Just a lil bar hoppin bike that can outrun the 103's :spy: Last pic is my taco hauling my buddy's soft tail earlier today.

you could say that. I thought i had better pics of the triple tree but I don't. It took a good bit of the frame with it. (barely see it in the 2nd pic behind my arm.

I love the lines on the 48, but the classic look of the soft tail is so beautiful. I'm torn between wrapping pipes or getting matte black ones. I'm anti-chrome, and will slowly be getting rid of all of it.

Chrome is the devil! As the salesman told me when I bought my bike.. "The sky is blue, the grass is green, the harley's are black"

My Fork is also black now..The only thing left chrome on my bike is the rocker box covers and my push rod covers.

Yeah, I was so timid when I got back on a bike I couldn't even ride without stalling. Lol.... took me almost a year to tell my mom. Didn't help that I had been medevac'd out of Iraq 6 months before hand.....
