At one time, I was hoping for Cousins to go to the Niners. I'm glad that didn't happen now.

 

I had the same thought. But Cousins is not having a bad year, really. Many teams struggle in Seattle.

 

I was sure Denver would go for Cousins, but they decided to have a case of the Keenums instead.

 

Vikes have no run game, you can’t be making a playoff run against anybody who’s in the same position at this point in the season being totally one dimensional.

Vikes offensively really failed to play that game the way they’re built, short red passes into Diggs and Theilen’s hands and let them go for the yac.

That said, defenses for both teams played pretty lights out, there must’ve been 15 or so really good passes defended on from both teams, something like 150 total passing yards early in the 4th, difference maker, Hawks had their run game.

 

I dunno. 6-6 and 1, fumbles a lot, cant beat teams with winning records. Granted, it's his first year. He'll probably get better. I just read Minnesota fired their O.C. !

 

X-Ray Gate??


Ben Roethlisberger suffered a rib injury in Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders and was eventually able to return, but there has been a great deal of confusion about why it took so long for Mike Tomlin to put him back in. The coach and quarterback tried to answer some of those questions on Tuesday.

Apparently, one of the reasons Roethlisberger stood on the sideline for so long seemingly ready to go was that the Steelers were waiting on results from outdated X-ray machines in Oakland.

 

Yeah, Oakland stadium is a serious dumpster. If it rains, it's literally flooding in most of their upstairs suites/offices for fans/team personnel. Always hated the Chiefs playing on that shit half baseball/football field in a shit structure.

/e: It's no wonder they are moving to Las Vegas since the fans/team office don't want to fix it.

 

Cincinnati was able to build separate football and baseball stadiums for what it would have cost to replace Riverfront with another combination field stadium. Those "go both ways" stadiums were great in their time, but time caught up to them. Their downsides were that you sat too far away from the field, the moving structure often broke, and they end up costing more to maintain than two specialized fields. You also had conversion damage if it had been raining a lot, and league scheduling problems if there was a football game too close to a baseball game, and the telescoping bleachers broke.

Oakland's stadium is more than 10 years past implosion time.

 

Yeah, that just doesn't seem to work out. Surprised they held on this long.

Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium and Kauffman Stadium are next to each other. They typically don't schedule Chiefs and Royals games at the same time, same day. However, if it had to come to it, they sometimes are forced to schedule on same day, but they never do the same time. That would be hell on top of the hell it already is with traffic and parking.

 

A relic for sure.

 

Cincy is the same way - Paul Brown Field and Great American Ballpark share common parking structures under the city. They don't schedule games for the same time, but they can have a football game at 1300 and a baseball game at 1900 using the same parking lots under the city. Riverfront would never have been able to reconfigure that fast when it was new. Plus, both structures are very vertically arranged so the nosebleed seats are closer to the field than the original Loge section was.

 

Actually, it only floods if it’s raining heavily at high tide. Candlestick Park was similar. That’s what happens at the old parks when you build at sea level. Fortunately they learned from those mistakes when the SF Giants built PAC Bell Park.

Ah yes. I remember games like that when the bay came knocking. Sometimes it smelled a tad pungent.

I've only seen pictures of games when Chiefs were visiting and whenever it was raining, they could see rainwater just flooding out of the offices and cracked supports.

Same with Detroit. Also the Little Ceasers Arena is only a few blocks away from Comerica and Ford Field. Parking is even worse here
