Bolt action (or similar) is the best thing I've done for my online game. Hunting is so much easier.

Also haven't run into too many griefers at all. They must all be on PlayStation or something.

I couldn't catch any legendary fish. Finally youtubed it. Ahh! missed a couple things. I got three tonight.

Legendaries are hard to catch unless you pickup a trick.
Let the line break a few times, then you can reel them in easier.

Explored the SW part of the map. Plan was pick up the remaining cigarette cards real quick. 3 hours later a lot of dead Los Lobos and a couple new legendary pelts i finally put the game down. Missing 10-12 cards for the entire set now which is weird pretty sure i got all the ones marked on the ign map.

What about throwing some dynamite? Without one of those wii fishing controllers I just don't even bother. It's so hard to "Tune in Tokyo" with just a thumb.

Weird the legendary fish for me have been the easiest part, usually one cast and boom they are hooked, only one that took some doing was the big one off the railroad line in Saint Denis.

I thought the Salmon was the toughest although I might have accidentally used the trick for the giant gar or whatever in St Denis.

    Questions...
Can you store goods from you satchel anywhere else? Like at a camp?

If you let the lawmen come get you they actually tell you to run away and you dont get a bounty. Whats the limit to this?

No way to store things outside your satchel, however you can sell/donate most items.
Valuables you can sell to a fence, skins to trapper or use for camp upgrades, meat to butcher or better to donate to camp. Feathers to trapper or donate to camp. Cigarette cards can be sold too but dont want to do that unless you have duplicates. Gold bars/nuggets to fence. Worth keeping an eye on craft items at the fence though because some unique/rare jewelry collectible type items are needed to craft trinkets and talismans etc.

I never surrendered so cant answer that part

I did this last night. I started off with very few cards, maybe 1 or 2 from each set and ended up with 12 complete sets within an hour. The only annoying part was I could only hold 2 packs of premium smokes at a time so I had to keep going into my satchel to discard them. Still faster than trying to find them in the wild and it maxed out my dead eye as an added bonus.

Haven't done it myself, but the upgraded satchels you can hold more. I think you can only craft them from Pearson in camp though?

Yeah, I was just reading up on those. I haven't done much serious pelt hunting but I think I need to go after the upgrades. I read that the trinket you craft from the Legendary Buck will improve pelt quality which will help getting the perfect pelts that are required.

There is a significant difference in the amount of items you can carry once you complete the satchel upgrades.

There is sooo much to this game. They dont really give direction on where to go next, so to speak. With games like this I always end up stopping at every location on the map and basically end up with a clusterfuck.

So, in an attempt to not have this happen...what should I focus on? Hunting? Building up camp supplies? Certain missions? (I just started ch2)

I need a strategy or else I will lose interest in the goals at hand lol

Basically I suck ass at strategy games.

I am still in awe at the graphics. I would love to see the 4k version. Cant justify a new tv and pspro just for 1 game though lol

I’m sure most of us were on the same boat, at least I was. I’d just do a little of everything though. I’d do a main mission and then do one of little ones, then I’d go roaming around and come across legendary animal territory and focus on that.

    Yes.

Honestly, its like sensory overload. So much stuff to take in. I played with the story line until Dutch wanted to speak to you in camp which starts chapter 3 I think. Then I just hunted the shit outta the game, and went after the challenges, animals, treasure, etc.

I'll try and say this without giving anything away. Explore and collect stuff, hunt fish, do the white marked side missions etc before chapter 4. Once you get into chapter 5 and 6 IMO it is better to just follow the story. Do the challenges early like explorer, hunter, bandit, survivalist etc to unlock new gear and you still give yourself time to restore your good guy meter after the bandit challenges. Once you set up camp outside Rhoades is a good spot to sit for a while and explore and not progress the story. Upgrade your camp as early and quickly as possible in chapter 2 especially the fast travel for Arthur.

I blew through chapters 1-3 too fast imo. Really slowed down in chapter 4 and started exploring, but it would have been nice to have completed different trapper outfits and satchel upgrades by then not later.
