    Today I learned not to make a sharp turn right after engaging 4hi. Had to turn down a snowy road off of one that was cleared. Got in the turn lane, engaged, and tried to make the turn. Truck did not like it. Felt like it bound up, had to straighten the wheel and try again, did fine once I got it straightened out.

    Also, got my center caps back. The color is nice, but I dont think Ill be going back to that body shop. Doesnt look like they sanded them much. 2 day job, so it looks like they rushed it. 1211181320.jpg

    I blew a CV axle doing that once, careful. I was on a snowy road and pulled into a covered gas station...the concrete didn't have any snow/ice on it and felt it bind up to the point where it stopped the truck in it's tracks. Continued down the road for a couple miles in 4HI after filling up and started hearing this THUNKTHUNKTHUNK of a broken CV axle (inner joint blew apart)

    It might've already been compromised before the binding incident I dunno, but changing a CV axle off the side of the road in snow is no fun

    It's probably fine, people bind up the front end all the time without knowing any better and probably on the trails too when the rocks get grippy. I think that axle was on it's last legs TBH

    we were headed to a pretty difficult trail to that day so if anything it was a blessing that it happened when it did, changing a CV on a snowy trail would've been worse

    I don’t think it should do that.
    That is a terrible noise, I’ve gotten pretty good at transitioning from 4 to 2 WD, gotta use momentum.

    How much did you pay for the paint job?

    @Empty_Lord @BartMaster1234

    That S-runner was junk, well nothing on it that I wanted. Everything left was all fucked up. Was hoping to find the driver's weatherstrip & seatbelt.

    Center console was toast but I did snag the lower door for the console. Also got the blower motor, hope it's good. I think I paid too much for the blower motor though.

    Had factory sunroof.

    Oh & @BartMaster1234

    Seen a number of late 80s early 90s Cadillacs & Buicks. Not sure if the horns you need come out of those. Most I saw said A & F on them.

    twin sticks like for rock crawling? Gives you a much lower range to use so you can crawl without feathering the throttle as much and burning up your clutch. At least that's my understanding and what I would want twin sticks for

    Ah that's a crawl box, which is another gear reduction case that goes between the transmission and the stock t case. You are right though, it gives you another low gear 2.72, or 4:1 depending on setup to help with crawling

    Twin sticks for the factory t case give you 2 levers.

    One engages 4wd, the other toggles between high/low. If you're a chump like me with manual hubs you can use 2low while leaving the front hubs locked, which is useful if you have an auto locker up front
