That rear plate looks like it will hit the reservoirs or the shock itself? Also interested because I am getting ADS rears. Do you have separate resis, or fixed piggyback resis?

Yes, I do. But keep in mind everyone will feel things differently. I was very worried about my truck riding too stiff after installing my setup based on what some others were reporting. It's anything but, very happy with how it rides and have had some ride in my truck on the trails and tell me how smooth it is compared to others.

Thanks, I was curious how the default valving was on the piggybacks...I will just roll with clickers.

I have the clickers with the reservoir and the rear plate looks as if it will hit the rear shock. The reservoirs with the clickers come with two self tapping screws that screw right into the frame, not a big issue or hard to do. I would suggest getting the clickers just because if you ever want to adjust your ride down the road whether that be new a different terrain or you do decide in the future that you want to haul stuff you can adjust for that, hauling uses mostly your leaf pack anyways though. The word in this thread is buy once cry once.

I like my clickers on all 4 corners. Drilling into the frame to mount the resi’s is not even a concern (1/4” self tapping screw).

Did you put anything in the hole to prevent frame rusting? Silicone? Paint?

No. Going to be way more rust on your truck from rocks being thrown up and hitting your undercarriage than the hundredths of an inch between the screw and surrounding steel.

Holy Bleep. Finally got the passenger side shock out. Whoever worked on this truck before torqued the tie rod knuckle into oblivion. It finally dropped after 30 mins of smacking it with a hammer.

This end is supposed to be tapered from the thread, and you can see the ridge that was made from it being torqued, it’s a castle nut, it’s not supposed to be torqued! And the second picture is of the steering knuckle that i was bent on destroying. Looks like new tie-rod ends are in my future.

You did yours different than me when I did my suspension I just separated the upper control arm from the spindle and left the lower control arm and the steering tie rod attached.

For me it was easier just to undo tie-rod. When you do finally get it off it just swings out of the way and I could just raise the coilover into the bucket without articulating it at all.

    No pitman arm puller?

And what am I supposed to be looking at on that outer tie rod? Looks normal to me. And it is supposed to be torqued. Don't recall the spec but it's like 60-70 ft/lbs.

Perhaps you need a rubber or sand mallet?

I have a couple of socket sets if that helps. I don't have many tools unfortunately.:(

The ball joint for the UCA is 45 lbs, which isn't very much. I got it snug and then put the cotter pin through the nut, it's not going to back off.

I used a rubber mallet, dead blow hammer, and a small sledge because the other two weren't getting it done.

Well it's one 19mm nut for the tie-rod and I've already said I don't like playing with the lower ball joint adapter. Nearly all of the suspension forces are transmitted through the LCA and that adapter. Last time I tried taking those off I started turning the passenger side wheel through the steering rack they were so tight. And since the truck was on jackstands. I rather not my truck sitting on the driveway thank you very much.

At any rate the truck is back together and driving tonight so I'm happy. I get to drive it to work and then I'll be making adjustments tomorrow.

Dude....stop. Just buy the freaking click adjusters already, Jesus. You'll hate yourself if you don't. And if you don't everyone here will.

Calm your soul you crazy Texan. No need to bring Jesus into the situation.

I’m seriously not thrilled about drilling into the frame because I have 100,000 mile warranty bumper to bumper. And I honestly think the clickers would be overkill given the trails I do. I’m running OME rear shocks right now so anything would be an improvement.

And for the record, I don’t really care what people think is “cool” or if people will hate me (I’m not a 16-yr old girl that lets things like that get to me). My truck is paid off so hate on. :D
