They were originally for a style pipe rack I didn't work with on a regular basis .I'll see if I can find a pic.

 

I use a 24" level. Level off the top of your bender in 2 directions, make your first bend and put the level across bend you just made when you set up for your second bend. If everything is level it will be on the same plane. Your bender must be LEVEL. I mark all my bends from the centerline to each side and mark all your tubing at the same time.

 

They looked like these but had a smooth bore. I also tacked some flat stock and popped holes where the bolt heads were to make the head recessed

I dont have one yet. I just picked up a bender and will probably buy one of these when I start using it.

Just pop holes in your own flat stock to save some money.

 

I'd probably do a 3 on 12 stich weld on the bottom. And just take your time with the top. dont rush it. Let it cool. But it's metal so expect it to move a little.

My post wasn't trying to take a dig at you, I'm genuinely not sure if that's the right way to do it but that's how I'd approach it.

 

All done. Put on a couple plates to mount an awning and a tab above each bar for lights.

 

Those tabs came out good !

Btw don't go too crazy on the stich. The top seem weld is the load bearing weld that will take almost all the force. The stich welds are just keeper welds

 

How long for each stitch?

 

2-3" every foot or so . Just enough to keep it from rolling back against the other weld.


The only thing I'd be concerned about is how your going to cut a straight line in tube or conduit. Once you weld it to the sheey, the shit will want to follow the path of the conduit and might ping the sheet metal .
