My parents got woke up and all the dogs went crazy. Sounded like a loaded dump truck trying to get up the driveway

Obviously it's TacomaWorld Secret Santa. That was his LS swapped long travel first gen full of goodies bouncing down the driveway.

What battery is everyone using? I've got an Optima Yellow Top my truck came with but I'm not a believer in buying another high-end battery. Need something good enough and has side posts for winch

I’ll second odyssey. Had one in my old truck and I think it’s still in @tacotim448 ’s truck now

They are not cheap unfortunately. I’d look at Duralast Golds too, the last one I had lasted 11 years of abuse in my Tacoma and Mazdaspeed3. I think they are $150 ish

I've gotten 4+ years (and counting) on my EverStart Gold battery from walmart. No idea how the warranty is tho. Would not recommend buying a battery from Advance because of their warranty policy, as mentioned earlier. Not sure what type of battery you would want for side posts.

Carquest AGM. It's a rebranded deka intimidator (confirmed by our deka salesman here at work). Great battery. It may be AdvanceAuto now that they merged.

Batteries Plus AGM. It's a rebranded Northstar.

The Duracell AGM I have for my motorcycle is a Deka, sold at Batteries Plus. So far so good, but I've only had it for less than a year. Keep it on the charger most of the time.

    Need some suggestions.
I keep thinking about how much I don't really like driving the wife's Highlander since she has been taking the 4Runner.

Seems like the next best responsible thing to do is find a cheap daily driver. (most responsible being keep the Highlander since it's paid off)
Driving 80 miles a day adds up quick in gas so even though I prefer truck/suv, a car might be better.
It would be nice to be able to fit the whole family but since the 4R is new, I'm not worried about them getting stranded meaning a small car is ok.

    Requirements:
    1. Rear drive or AWD only. Hate front wheel drive.
    2. Reliable and wears well (so no GM cars :D)
    3. new-ish, maybe 2014+ (better loan rates)
    4. Good MPGs on highway (~26mpg or better)
    5. Can find good selection to pick from at <$26k and <60k miles.
    6. Still enjoyable to drive and has at least some aftermarket stuff available.

One's I've thought of so far that hit the criteria:
Toyota 86/FRS/BRZ (this looks like cheapest option so far, $20k for one still under original warranty and rated ~30mpg highway)
Subaru WRX (always liked Subaru and miss my old Legacy)
    Lexus IS250 / IS350
    Lexus GS350

    other ideas?

My wife's Subaru Crosstrek with a manual transmission is pretty fun and comfortable, gets around 30mpg.
