Just be careful in the mountains once you get into the snow.. if there is any. I’ve never done much driving down south to know how bad it gets down there, but even when people complain up here, just drive slow and know that the amount of cinders and salt they put on the road can be just as hazardous to slide on.

Greenbrier County has always taken good care of I-64 and the secondary roads in the area. I would not consider it a given that you will be in snow while you are here anyway. I grew up in Lewisburg and have spent many a Christmas day playing with new toys in shirt sleeves.

Do not trust your GPS in WV!

If theres the chance of snow happening around christmas, just drive like you would if there was a severe rainstorm, lots of standing water and such. Nice and steady, dont slam the breaks and dont follow to close, keep a good constant speed, DO NOT DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT, lol. Thats where most mess up.

Prolly not if you’re gonna stay on the primary roads.
If you’re worried about it just make sure u have decent tires and some weight in the bed. Your dcsb has better rear wheel traction than an access cab.
If u do get some snow find a safe place to have some slippery fun :)

It’s been going on a while. I normally drive on Rt 7 to go home (Morgantown -> New Martinsville, then south on Rt 2), but with all the trucking on 7 for oil and gas, I started going 79 -> 50 -> 16 -> 2. Generally not much longer taking the highway.. unless I’m trying to make time :annoyed:

I’ve read about the mess for a while, but experienced it first hand two weekends ago on the way home as people were wrecking trying to fly up to the end of the merge on both sides of the freeway.

I remember a lot wrecks in your area when I was still traveling to NJ and Philly for work. The interstates from northern WV and into MD were a mess during colder months. Seemed that WV had a better grip on keeping roads cleared though.

My mom drives an Acura and she’s already totaled one this year from hitting a deer. She almost crushed another the other night coming home from work on Rt 2 outside of St. Mary’s and I told her that her next vehicle will be an older T4R with a steel bumper.
