Do have the 3rd gen 5100s which the first perch after stock is .65" or do you have the older 5100s which the first perch is .85"?

I didn't know they changed the perch height from 2nd gen on 3rd gen. I only had the 5100's on for a few thousand miles before icons went on.

When I get my new setup would I be pushing it if I tried for 2.75" lift or should I stay at the 2.5" mark on the suspension and try use new tire size to gain the other .25" to .5"? I ordered gen2 6112/5160 with .25" spacers and ome light duty leaf pack)

I would stay as low as possible using the stock spring.. more compassion is going to equal shittier ride quality. Stay around 2.5 Regardless just use the proper old man emu spring for your application. Tires is the only thing that will give you more clearance

The 6112's came with springs and from what I could tell, I couldn't select which type of spring I wanted.

Go with a 2/1 lift OP. That will barely affect ride quality and give you good lift for your size tires and you definitely won't need new upper control arms or a diff drop with that lift. The parts should cost around $200 at the most so I'm sure you could find a shop to do it for about $600 total with labor. 3/1 is a bit too much for a spacer lift and might affect your alignment on stock UCA's and affect ride quality poorly.

I went with a 3 inch suspension lift but I don't offroad or do anything that requires it. I was just new and went with the advice of everyone here. But I wish I went with a 2/1 lift and stuck with 265 tires instead of 33's. Would have saved a ton of money and had better gas mileage. Trust me man.

That is the goal. I will have to pay someone to install the spring onto the shock, but other than that I hope to do it myself

I mostly agree with this one. I have the readylift 3/1 and a 4x4 TRD OR. it didn't affect ride one bit (or at least not detectable by my sensitive rear end), rides fine, off-roads in my very rare outings fine, and when my shocks wear out I'll do a real suspension but in the interim I found a killer deal on open box at Amazon and installed it with my brother who use to work at a suspension shop. Had to align after and with 30k+ miles on it, I'm starting to get some cupping on my OEM tires, which I'm going to replace soon and get another alignment.

I went back and forth for months on picking a setup. I toyed with a spacer lift so many times, but I just kept reading reviews that they rode crappy and had a potential of breaking a shock mount, but then I saw many success stories. I wanted closer to 3" myself so I decided to go with all new parts. I hope I don't regret my purchase later lol

Look in the local northwest threads and have a mod day pizza and beer will go a long way. Can also see where to get those springs mounted safely and at a fair price

I don't regret my purchase or the route I went, but I definitely think I would have been just as happy with a spacer lift and some 265's. My truck looks great with a full suspension lift and 33's, and I do use it for some outdoor adventuring, but I realized there are too many people on this forum that act like a basic spacer lift is the worst thing you can ever do to your truck and it becomes junk. It's total bullshit. For 90% of people on the road a 2/1 lift with some nice tires is more than enough

That is a good idea. As I get closer to installation I will definitely do that. Any advice or expertise will be helpful

I agree, there are a lot of bashers out there on spacer lifts. In retrospect, I should have done a spacer lift and tires, but I had the money so it made sense to do it the way I would want it for years now rather than do it twice.
