Thank you very much to everyone in this thread taking time out of their day to help me out. I would be pulling my hair out if I didn’t have a community like this to ask questions in

Do I need an amplifier as well? I’ve heard of people blowing out their speakers because that didn’t have one. I’m not planning on putting a subwoofer in

top single red and black's those go to the tweeter? If so flip them. 2 blacks from the grey plug go to the positive of the tweeter, and 2 reds go to the negative.

You can see when you plug that plug into the door harness that the blacks actually go to the pink's which are the positive of the main speaker.

Should be a pretty good setup. Id be inclined to do a 6x9 up front as you can fit them in easily with the proper adapter. But if you already have the stuffs go for it.

Okay so you’re saying the black from harness goes with red on tweeter? And red from harness with black on tweeter?

Did crossovers come with the setup?

Looks like those tweeters have crossovers built in so you wont need them.

Just make sure to get the positive n negative on the main 6.5's proper (I think the adapters have different sized connectors so you cant mess that up)

U don't need to buy an adapter actually.

Just gut the stock basket, bolt/screw new 6x9 to the OEM basket u gutted, screw the whole assembly right into stock location with stock screws.

I ran new wires for all the speakers. For the tweeter holder, i reused the stock bracket.. Ripped out the factory tweeter and mounted my new tweeter to the metal bracket. Worked like a champ

Yeah you could do that, but for like 11-15 bucks for the adapter it wasnt worth my time

No, I thought crossing over was something you did with the original cables. I guess it didn’t come with the setup. Setup sounds fine form 6.5 but still static from tweeter unfortunately. This is my first time wiring speakers as you can tell

Crossovers typically come with a matched component speaker system. The 3way 6.5 and the stand alone tweeter all have crossovers built into the speaker itself to clip the sound ranges that the individual speakers cant reproduce. You are good just wire them up as discussed and you will be good.

Thank you very much, when someone says 3-way, 4-way, 5-way is that referring to crossovers

3way / 4way will refer to how many speaker components are within the speaker. A typical "3way" will have a woofer (for lows) a mid sized driver for mid range, and a tweeter for the high range.
