My thing is that I know my dog well and know either of us will do anything to keep each other protected. She is a Pit, very happy and energetic, tends to pull on leash when around dogs, normal dog stuff, but she's never not under my control. I usually take measures for her to be tired and extra obedient for meets to be extra careful with the other dogs/owners. As someone mentioned early, people look at her and immediately act negatively. That being said, I have encountered several dogs leashed to vehicles unattended or with their owners next to them barking, pulling, and simply displaying aggressive behavior patterns to the point where neither my dog or myself are actually enjoying ourselves. I know the stigma of having a Pit, and I know they get the blame for majority of incidents with other dogs.

Don't want any issues regarding dogs to ever happen to any of us and if it hasn't happen yet, great! Let's work on preventive measures. Don't think I'm the guy that should be telling other owner how to behave or control their dogs but I also don't want the same issues to prevent me from having a good time with my pup and the rest of the crew.

I'm pretty sure we are all on the same page in here. I'll be keeping an eye out at the meet and will be able to notify COTA management in the event you or anybody else feel it necessary.

There's a meet in Bastrop on Saturday. No big trail rides but usually some good people and some mud holes.
