Problems with Power steering

This issue is new as of today in my 3 week old Taco. At low speeds it feels like it has no power steering, so when I am in a parking lot or at a stop sign I go to turn the wheel and I have to crank it with some strength. Once I get up to about 35-mph I seem to have no issues. Any insight? I am going to call the dealer, but I figured I would ask here as well.

 

Take a look under the hood and see if you are out or leaking power steering fluid.

 

Big tires? Any mods? Stock?
When did it start?

 

Power steering fluid is right where it needs to be.

 

Zero mods, I've owned the truck 3 weeks. Power steering fluid is perfect. Issue started last night pulling in to my drive way.

 

Made in mexico?

 

odd. doesn't sound normal if you're stock.

Might sound dumb, but is 4WD on?

 

Are you in 4x4?

Does rpm change when attempting to turn steering at a stop?

 

I used it on Monday, I live in NC and had to deal with snow. I turned it off when I got to my destination, no issues on Tuesday other than when I got home.

I will have to double check RPM, it is in 2wd, and I pulled the 4x4 fuse to be sure that wasn't the cause.

 

Was mine as well, but I already ensured that it switched back to 2wd

 

How can I determine this?

 

It’s electric. My understanding is it can stick in 4x4

 

Any idea how I can unstick it, if that is truly the case?

 

Sticker inside frame of door on drivers side should say mfg. Date and locale

 

Look up Diff actuator. I think some others have reported this problem you are having.
