I also ask the cop how he wants to proceed some want you to step out and stand off to the side of the car off the road so they can see you. It all depends. I found that open carrying in the car goes smoother than CC. Open carry meaning in plain sight on the seat dash etc. NC is an open carry state. For whatever reason I noticed in my interactions cops were less nervous when it was out in the open.

That in NC is illegal I have had one cop ask if they could take the gun as it would make him more comfortable he legally isn't allowed to because I wasn't under any investigation but I obliged. He just took it and put it on the hood of his cruiser. I let him unholster it as I want a nervous cop to be as comfortable as possible.

Not all LEO know their shit when it comes to this stuff. It's a fallacy of higher power that because people are put in those positions they are an authority of the subject.

True. Because CCW is such a controversial issue in my state, it's just nice to have someone that has specifically dealt with the good and bad from CCW and illegal carry. This guy knew his shit and even setup mock scenarios where clueless officers can mislead you in a traffic stop.

Yeah we have 2 notorious cities here in NC that try and arrest you for open carrying stating that is is terrorizing the public. Yet in the Law it states brandishing a weapon, some cops see a holstered pistol visible as brandishing but when you cross reference our states definition of brandishing its in had waving around or pointing it at a target individual etc. I have schooled a few cops on this subject that wanted to arrest me because some pansy saw my pistol and called them. I keep up with a lot of this shit because I am highly active in Grassroots NC a pro firearm activist and lobbying group.
