Luckely nobody was hurt. He even had the nerve to adk if i can puck him up. Im like no i dont support drunk drivers.

What an asshole. I have no sympathy for people who drink and drive because your dumbass put yourself in that situation. Like Brian said he’s lucky no one else was hurt.

Agreed. I lost my childhood bestfriend to a drunk driving accident while I was in high school.

You dont' remember that tractor trailer that ran like 15 cars over at the 40/85 split in Hilsborough a few yrs ago. Dude was stoned, drunk, and on pain meds. He killed several people.
As someone who went through a time and struggled with alcoholism I can see both sides depending on why that guy drinks all the time. Now I got a DWI and that was kind of my wake up call since it near about destroyed my career at the time and cost a shit ton. I also lost a cousin to a drunk driver and an uncle to alcoholism. Sometimes there are underlying issues. Not trying to make excuses for this guy, but sometimes there are reasons people turn to drugs or alcohol and it may just be cry for some help. I know there are some that this isn't the case. Also I agree with what John said about not picking him up because he doesn't support drunk driving since that's some tough love right there and sometimes guys need that.

To me there is never a valid excuse to drink and drive and put others at risk. Zero. If someone suffers with alcoholism, that sucks but stay home and be drunk.

I get it. I struggled with alcoholism and was eventually treated for it. I still drink now, even occasionally get turnt up. People make mistakes, but it's hard to be understanding when it takes the lives of people you love.

At the time I didnt realize how badly I needed it. But we rarely ever do until as skip put it, we get the wakeup call. I definitely dont abide by the treatment guidelines I was given on my discharge anymore, but I dont drink nearly as much as I used to and I never put myself in situations that could compromise my well-being.

I don't really drink much anymore. I may have a beer or 2 every few months or so and that's about it.
    Thanks. :hattip:

I was essentially a functioning alcoholic. There wasn't much of the day that I was sober.
I didn't go to any treatment or anything like that other than what was required for my DWI (that was a joke I wouldn't even call it treatment). It was more a promise I made to someone and because of our relationship I will uphold that promise till I die. I just know my personality and if I drink even as you describe it'll be a downhill slope for me.

:puke:I'd rather have a sweet tea . If I am staying put like at AOAA, I had one one night and a couple the other night that was it for the weekend. Haven't had anything since then and it had been months before then that I had one.
