Brilliant! Listened to Recommendations. Satoshi Grill Horn Relocation w/ Lots a Pics

It is likely nearly, if not totally, identical. If you review his write-up and pics and compare them to your truck, you should be able to tell pretty quickly.

 

Great write-up! Tried this yday before mounting satoshi grill...couple of comments

1. I didn't have to snake the harness through the gap where SRS is mounted. I was able to route it from opening above the SRS and have enough slack to mount the temp sensor and horns.

2. The toughest part for me was to mount the damn horns, I used 3/8-16 bolt, flat washer and a lock nut (not nylock). It was tough to hold the nut and tighten, I couldn't get my fingers behind the radiator support without losing washers and scraping my fingers, hopefully horns don't fall off lol...will post pics later today

I know.......The scraped fingers are the only downside.
One guy in the thread had his (small fingered) 12 year old do it.
Still trying to get to moving my oil cooler, so wanted to leave that penetration uncluttered

Sweet write-up - just what I needed. Does anyone know if the horns are relocated to the lower spot as described if they are going to be in the way of an aftermarket plate bumper and winch?

i moved my horn up behind the battery... I replaced OEM horns with a stebel

 

When you moved the horns, did the factory harness stretch far enough? Did you have to also relocate the temperature sensor?

 

Left the temp sensor where it was and just extended the wiring.

 

By "Extended," you mean spliced in additional wire, correct? I have ZERO problem with that, just wondered how mush of a pain in the rump it was. I haven't checked yet to see how my harness is even bundled, whether taped, sleeved, or what. Just exploring all options before I dig in.

 

LOl yes "spliced" Wasnt hard at all, some solder and shrink tubing... There was even a spot where it looked like it was soldered before by Manufacture.. i just used that point for my "splice" point
