    Aloha All,

Looking to get real world specs from owners who had the OME HDs for a while now that has settled. How much lift does it provide you with an empty bed/rear? How much lift does it provide you when fully loaded? If pictures are possible that would be appreciated. Thank you!

3.5 inches lift in the rear after settling for 6 months and with a 3 degree shim.

@swissrallyman wow. Thank you. Trying to get an idea of how much they'd provide me so I can get an idea what I need to adjust the front to.

I got about 3.75” with fresh leaf packs. After they broke in I am at about 3.25”-3.3875” with my normal load and 3.5” totally unloaded. I carry a lot of gear and tow regularly they have held up great. They really shine with about 3-400 lbs in the bed.

@RedBeard1 damn. So why does the description say 2" of lift for 2016+ Tacomas? Lol. I must be misinformed.

The 2” lift rating is at full load on the springs to the best of my knowledge.
Picture is of my truck fully loaded and tipping the scales at 6800lbs. They handle the load like a champ and still flex and function well. Truck sits dead level loaded out like this. 886 front coils and Dakar heavy rears.A0926252-C67F-4DDE-85B6-D7E403FA5546.jpg

@RedBeard1 nice. Sweet set up man! So you have about 3" up front? Any issues? Vibrations?

Anyone know how much lift you'd get with a leaf taken out of the OMEs? I carry about 300 lbs and just want to be somewhat level.

6800 lbs? Over 2000 lbs above stock. How did you manage that?

Edit: Nice test of capacity engineering. Kinda glad to hear that the Taco can handle being overloaded.

Sliders, skids, bumper, winch and bed rack all built out of steel. Six E rated 265/75r16 KO2 tires, two auxiliary batteries, solar panel, solar charge controller, auxiliary lights, auxiliary equipment wiring ect. Recovery equipment, tools, chainsaw and fuel for saw. 18 gallons of auxiliary fuel, 21 gallons of fresh water. On demand water heater, pump and shower setup. spare CV shaft, spare u-joints, spare filters, various other spares and fluids for all components. Camp kitchen, fridge, camping gear, first aid/trauma kit roof top tent, shovel, hi lift, awning, roof rack and associated hardware. Throw in my 95 lb wife, my 85 lb dog, 200 lbs of me our clothing, fire arms and ammunition... you get the point it adds up pretty quickly.

The front sits at 2” over stock the way I have it loaded normally. My CV angles are just about flat as it sits. Absolutely lo vibrations.

I got exactly 3” with a decked unit loaded in the bed. Havnt loaded it more than that yet with this setup. But i planned on being able to haul wood etc fully loaded with little sag.

Just under a face cord of wood saw and other wood cutting tools in the bed.FDADAF02-537C-465C-BB46-054F31A02344.jpg

Half a face cord of wood in the bed, trailer, smoker, 4 sheets of 3/16” steel plate(stacked on trailer deck under 4wheeler), Honda 500 and my normal tools and junk I haul. A8983DEE-3A10-491A-AC7E-0A21FD7DB88C.jpg
The OME suspension parts/systems work good and hold up well. The Tacoma can handle more than you think too. Just make sure you do some upgrades to your brake system. The go is not an issue it is the stopping where people get in trouble.

I have the HD packs with a camper shell and recovery gear—got about 2" over stock.

hmmm wonder if i should buy heavy leaf packs and take a leaf out for the time being until i add more weight in the back or just stick with the mediums. i am planning to do 5100s front and back with ome 888 springs to fit 285/70r17

I did the opposite, the standard packs are way too light weight if you actually use your truck as a truck, or have a shell. HD rides great with about #350 of constant weight.

So a heavy leaf pack without a leaf is the same as a medium, so I wouldn’t do that. If you don’t have consistent weight on the back but was more support when you do, then consider adding airbags. See video below.

How the heck are some getting 2" and others getting almost 4"? What's different between users?

4 inches without weight, 2 inches with like 500 lbs in the back. Mine started like 4 inches without weight and settled to like 3.5 ish. However I keep like 500 lbs in the back and it’s like 2 inches

I'm putting mine on tomorrow. I have gear and a cap, so hopefully I get closer to 2-3".
