Any rear lift from just replacing stock shocks with 5100s?

My brother recently got his 2019 Tacoma TRD-OR, DCSB. I've told him about TacomaWorld and he'll be joining soon; he hasn't gotten around to it. At any rate, he just purchased 5100s for the front and rear as well as Eibach coils, and I'll be helping him with the install. I was curious what the lift would be in the rear if he did not install an AAL in the rear. Would there be any difference in lift whatsoever with the new shocks only? I know there have been hundreds of threads on the 5100s, just didn't happen to find one where that question is answered. Thanks.

 

I have always read that they will not lift the rear at all if you only replace the shocks. He needs an aal probably to compensate for the front lift

 

Yea, that's what I figured; just wanted to make sure. The AAL looks like a pain to install.

 

Rear shocks do not provide lift.

Shocks don’t raise the rear, but in general the rear is higher than the front. So if you want to level things out you could probably just raise the front by 1 inch.

You’d have to measure from the middle of the wheel to the fender for the front and back though to see the actual difference

 

Or you could get Dakar EL095R leaf pack for the rear to raid it a couple inches. Then you won’t need to take apart a leaf pack, but it’s more money than a simple add a leaf

Just make sure to have clamps for the existing leaf packs when you unbolt them.
